Olympic wannabe pothead.. oops

High level athletes also don’t want to hurt their competitiveness by getting hammered on martinis and oxy’s

But they can, and even more impressive if they can get shit faced and party, only whoop ass after, just pointing out the obvious lack of logic in their weed puritanism.

And from a entertainment point of view, I don’t really care anyways 🤷‍♂️

It’s like people who get into the personal lives of actors or athletes, they are just dancing monkeys there to entertain, I frankly don’t give a damn what they do during the commercial break.

Hmmm maybe this guy can come out of retirement throw on a skirt a clean house.

Three months ago, a negligent cyclist, was traveling towards me, both of us on bicycles, on a very wide bike path/road. Completely unexpectatatly within ten feet of me, she turned directly in my path while looking down at something. She had to see me coming as the road was straight for a very long ways and to avoid hitting her, I took evasive action which resulted in my having a very nasty crash. The results of which I am still suffering from. Her immeadiate response was to say she was sorry. Sorry; Sorry for being Stupid, Sorry for being negligent, Sorry for causing injury? Her being sorry has not stopped the pain, her being sorry did not stop the bleeding, her being sorry DOES NOT STOP ANYTHING!

It is sad when someone breaks the rules, even when that person or you may disagree with the rules. Athletes are held to a higher standard as they should be. Yes I may be slower than her, but my body is free of EPO even though it might make me a prospective champion in the national Senior Olympics. The rules are there because this is not only not legal, it may be destructive if abused.

Being sorry for breaking established rules does not make her right. Being faster than me does not make her breaking the rules right. It is her responsibility to know the rules, it is her responsibility to follow the rules, even if those rules are not something you or others don’t agree with.

It is said that one can apologize for a speaking a nasty word, but one can never remove that word from the mind of that person who was spoken too. One can apologize for breaking the rules, but to those who look up to her, the fact that she broke the rules, that she in some way cheated can never be erased from their thoughts.

(and yes, any form of pain killer can be used to cause a false recovery from extreme exertion.)

I can appreciate your position but you are confusing an accident with ill intent. Have you reached out to her to see if she suffered equally painful injuries or do you just sulk in your spandex shorts ready to pounce on the word “sorry” so you can share your unfair life experience.

This isn’t about you and your brittle body.

I was expressing my disappointment in her choices because I sincerely wanted to watch this young lady compete. I wanted to watch a real female with actual grit show the world what she can do despite her inexperience and unrefined approach to life.

I never advocated the rules should be excused for her and held for others. I simply used this to address the rule as well.

I do agree with your statements that the rules are clear and she broke them.

As far as her apology. I heard a young inexperienced human apologize to her sponsors, her supporters and even those who she recognizes dont support her. I saw what I hope was a person learning through self inflected pain. She blamed no one. Maybe it was edited to appear that way. Maybe not.

She demonstrated a level of recognizing her actions were wrong. It’s the type of behavior we claim to seek yet refuse to recognize when it’s on display.

Your injuries are self inflected, you chose evasive maneuvering…because a female…yet you Bitch about her. Be a true gentleman, walk with a limp. When someone inquires how they occurred you reply “I was protecting a woman from certain, perhaps fatal injury”

Don’t lecture me from your podium made of shit. I’m not in the mood to entertain incomplete thoughts and whiny “men”

Interesting reading these comments. The rules are not a secret. She took her chances and got caught. Deal with the consequences. You're not special.

True. Lobby to get the rules changed. Break 'em and get caught? Deal with the consequences.

well thats really the crux of the issue.

she knew the rules....she broke the rules....and now she claiming to be the victim.

and to boot, she has everyone coming out of the woodwork telling her she did nothing wrong, and that the Olympics are "rayyyyycist" for not letting her smoke weed.......0 personal responsibility.....always someone elses fault.

she doesnt have a right to be an olympian...if she wants to compete, she needs to follow the rules they set.....if she doesnt like it, she can make her own olympics.

don’t you see that the rules will be against you one day? And they will say, deal with the consequences?

The only issue I have - is lets not forget how Russia had a bunch of doping athletes that by literally filing last minute appeals (8 days before)got to perform in Rio - remember Lilly King and the finger wag incident vs. the Russian doper whom eventually took silver? I'm not saying its right - I'm just saying it was OK for them to fail their doping tests...

Wow you're quite the asshole. May you should tell her to not cry about her unfair life experience and to go sulk in her spandex running shorts.

Just talking to a man like a man while he bitches like a bitch.

But for real. What kind of “man” throws himself down to save a female only to talk shit about her later.

If that’s his character, run the bitch down and step over her body like Ray Lewis.

Let him pick the moral high ground or be a man who whines about life not being fair while blaming a woman. Not both. I struggle with dialectics, they bring out the honesty in me.

Should have just got shitfaced off booze and ate their OK list prescription pills like a good athlete 😂

Because that’s ok

I get not wanting them to take drugs they give them a advantage, makes sense.

That being said, I’d watch a “open class” Olympics where they could take ANYTHING, that would be entertaining, see some dude cross the line as his eyeballs shoot out of his head or something 😂
Or shits him/herself itself and has a heart attack from all the meth he it snorted.

Literally the dumbest fucking comment I've read all day

So no one needs to follow any rules they don't like?

Were talking about rules to a game, not laws

If I can't follow a simple rule like, "don't smoke weed before getting drug tested" for a game i want to play....feel free to let me "deal with the consequences"

Gee... what was it thinking?
Something else was just revealed...she lost her biological mother one week before the trials. If that played a role in her doping before the trials, she should have mentioned that in her apology. She mentioned her girlfriend in the interviews before the race, she could have mentioned her mother at some point too. Anyway: so here come the excuses: she used it 4 times to cover the pain from her mom's passing...

No.

But I’d wager if he’s in the WWF/errE or whatever he’s making more money than Olympic types.
Chris Benoit. See all the muscles on his muscles? Steroids. Know what roids are associated with besides tiny nuts? Rage. He murdered his wife and kid and committed suicide.

Perhaps she choose to accept the consequences rather than to have the loss of her mother dismissed as an “excuse”

only makes me respect her apology more.

I’d wager there was more going on than just the drugz

It’s like booze, the shit people blame on booze is laughable, yeah it makes one a little more loose, coordination kinda sucks, but to think it’s going to turn a good man into a axe murderer, or something, just don’t buy it

Blaming steroids is like blaming guns. I'd be willing to bet he wasn't exactly stable to begin with. I know several people that regularly use steroids without killing people.

It doesn't need to be performance enhancing to be banned.

THC effects reaction time and cognitive ability......do you want someone competing in any of the rifle competitions to be blazed out of their mind?

What about the driver of a bob sled?

Are we going to have different doping rules for every sport?
Yes, because, racism.

I couldn't care less about pot or any other drug, just not my style.

However this rule is pretty fucking stupid. If they are going to ban weed, they may as well ban alcohol indulgence as well.

It's an archaic rule that has no reason to continue to exist.
Alcohol is a banned substance on IOC lists. Just sayin.

she don't have to wanna be a pot head she already is and now she screwed up and got disqualified from her job and can't compete yea .

on the other side we have our own version of a Muslim law state, known as Texas, where they’ll take your rights or life if you try to pick up a hooker, or toss you on a cage for smoking pot.

Be nice if we could find a middle ground in this country, because both the far right and far left actually end up in the same place, and it’s not a place of freedom, be it muh free shit/feelings or muh illusion of safety and religious morality, both are dog shit.

She is from Dallas, Texas. Going to school at LSU. But the olympic trials were in Oregon - hence the state-wide bye for weed alone. IOC has there own rules, which some countries do abide by. Nike has kept their endorsement of her and is in full support of her running in the Olympics still.

Nike ain’t dumb, the writing on the wall about folks seeing how stupid weed laws are and not supporting the prohibition on weed, yeah Nike sees that.

I’d wager she’ll get much more support than the IOC.

How’s the viewership of the olympics been trending over the years?

Even so, I don't think the Feds will give Weed up without a fight. Given all the agents that were KIA'ed in the general drug wars, they ain't givin' it up..... They want to ensure those agent's stay "avenged."

The fed doesn’t care about the agents, it’s all about the $$ and contracts, big industry, they probably are excited when a agent get killed violently, great marketing for expansion of the company, gets all the Walmart types all hot and bothered, gets the blue hairs scared, and all the above pre lubed to give up some more of their paycheck and bill of rights.

I’d also like to point out she’s only 5’1” runs in “fuck me” nails. She’s doing things people say can’t be done.

I’m really disappointed.

fuck. Rules are rules but this sucks.

And she apologized. To everyone. Her supporters and the rest of you slow ass fat asses.

I don't know about all that. I'm willing to bet she stinks though, even worse after a workout and giving her or that racist lady shot putter a mustache ride would earn you a trip to the ER.

Why do you expect anything different from a cyclist?

Sports are all better with PEDs. I know, I know, but you know it is true.

Really don't give a shit about smoking dope.

19 hours ago — Offensive and tasteless tweets have resurfaced by Olympian Gwen Berry. ... Olympic hammer thrower Gwen Berry's history of offensive tweets has been ... The athlete - who has insisted that the National Anthem is racist - posted ... 'White people are sooo retarded when they are drunk,' Berry wrote in a tweet ...

Compared to some of the shit I’ve said back when I had social media, that’s like a troll level of 2/10 lol

I was just smart enough not to use my real name, town, work, etc.

Social media = future chicom style social credit score

When it comes to social media

We should just allow all drugs. As it stands, you are basically rewarded for having better chemists on your side, who can hide drug results. If you are going to be rewarded for something outside of what the IOC "wants" to see, it would be more fun if they rewarded those who would take the most drugs so that they could push their bodies to do the most insane shit. At least it might make the Olympics fun again.

Zero people watched Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and Roger Clemens and wished that they were more mediocre because that would have been so fun to watch. Sports are a joke, the athletes are assholes. At least let the fans enjoy the freakshow.
