So I started playing with the omega auto trickler to try to speed up my reloading of my long range loads. Well it's been a lot more of a hassle than help! First off, the trickler itself isn't working well (with retumbo). It took a bunch of working with it to get it to start trickling and not just vibrating the Hopper. Then working with the light shield is a pain too. Every time I adjust it, it moves the stand and the adjustments are for nothing. I can obviously get this working with time, but it seems like more work to set this up every time than just do everything manually.

    Any advice?

Well i only own and use the original model, without the arm function for beam scales, but when you use the light shield they are really identical so.
The only negative thing about it is that it takes a long time to start trickling if it is adjusted for a slow feed, have not used Retumbo in it since the supplies of Retumbo here is scaringly low i use powders i have available, it does work fine with H1000 and N570 witch both are quite large in kernel size.
Having the hopper filled up will help with the flow, adjusting the nozzle weight to fast every time you fill it up helps some, and also rotating the base.

The feed of it is based on the vibration motor as it is what fills the tube and distributes the powder, so as long as it vibrates it is filling the tube if not there is something off about it, or an obstruction at the end of the tube.
Never had any issues with that except for that it takes time to get it to feed the powder out of the tube.
If it is giving you trouble i'd send a mail or call to the producer, has lifetime warranty and his customer service is quite good.

I do not have the auto version, but it is possible for you to fasten both the scale and the arm to what they stand on while keeping them level, your problem should go away then?
Assume the problem with the arm is that it is simply too light so it is very easy to move.

I use a digital balance with mine, and put the nozzle under the draftshield and over the pan, and just trickle the loads to the desired weight, have never given me any trouble at all.

Love mine and setup is easy but start without powder. Set your beam scale to desired charge and hit either button to start. Use your hand to trip the beam and set it to trip 3 or 4 tenths under. With an actual charge you should be hopefully just a few grains under your desired weight as I like to manually trickle to the exact weight. I charge the case, replace the pan, tablespoon scoop of powder and hit the button. By the time I'm done seating the bullet the next charge is ready for a few grain trickle.

Hmm, so if you still have to under charge and trickle, what's the point? I've been using a chargemaster to get it close and then a trickler to add 1 to 3 granules. I thought the point of this was to trickle to an exact charge!

You are corect the Omega trickler is meant to be used to trickle the last few kernels of powder.
The updated models with the muzzle weight does trickle one single kernel quite eliably once you set it up right.

Using the trickler to trickle close, and use yet another one for the last few kernels is a waste of time and money as you could have chosen another product to begin with.

Your idea of attaching it and fine tune the beam is the right and fastest option for you.
what Bruiz is describing he is using the trickler as a powder dispenser, each to they're own though.

I'm using it with the chargemaster to underthrow, and trickle with the Omega, although on a digital balance, so i had no need for the auto function.

Ok that's what I thought. I use a chargemaster to get close and I was hoping the omega would finish it off without requiring my attention.

After the initial setup the Omega auto should reliably be able to finish the cycle without needing any attention yes.
If you do fasten the bracket in a proper way to the scale or the bench, movement and re setup should not be a issue either.
I suspect the bracket could be made heavier to begin with, possibly with more friction on the 'legs' so your issue would not appear at all.
I have not had this version in my hand though so it is an assumption mostly.
A drill bit can make a hole, if you wnat to fasten it to the bench only a couple screws are needed.
But i guess you can make a extension plate to mount it to the scale, with some taps, drill bits, bolts and a plate it should be doable.

The Targetmaster trickler from the UK, was the original idea for the auto function, but the beam part seems to be a lot sturdier.
But that trickler does not reliably trickle one kernel at a time so has its backside too, apart from just being available from one place in the UK.

I use one and LOVE it, i have no problem setting mine up and it maybe 2 or 3adjustments and its spot on everytime. I dont trust electronic scales but i do my 10-10! One thing i dont do is set my powder drop really close, i set mine up where it has to trickler 2-3 grains. That way it comes up to the level mark slower and consistent.
