The assassination of Massoud, the Lion of Panjir. The contractors burned and hung from a bridge. The civilians who got beheaded. The IED victims. The innocents massacred at Ft. Hood and in their office in CA and in Orlando Nightclubs. The civilians run down in France and shot in their press office. And remember who spent decades committing those cowardly acts.

Because they all have one thing in common.

No quarter for terrorists. No quarter for those who harbor or defend them in deeds or in words. Never.

Never forget. Never quit until
Justice is meted out.

News media types would be blaming Americans for "provoking terrorists" and demanding the country surrender to Saudi Arabia or some such thing. There would be open celebrations in Portland, Seattle, Los Angles, Chicago and San Francisco. Maybe even in New York. Several parties would be led by Beto myMeato, Kamala Harris and Bernie Sanders.

Today is a new day, leftist hatred for America is far worse than Muslim hate was in 2001. You would be hard pressed to find a leftist in this country who thinks you have the right to own your own home, create your own wealth, earn a living, go to a Christian church or make a single decision on heath care or education without 100% government oversight.

My sister is an attorney and her office was in Tower II of the WTC. When they bombed the parking garage in '93 she was in court. On 9-11 the nanny for her twin 6 month old daughters had the shingles and she had to stay home that day. Her husband was taking the ferry across the Hudson since it was a beautiful day and watched the planes fly into the towers. She was angry for a long time and felt they should nuke the Middle East. She said one of the saddest things she saw every day while riding the train home was seeing the same cars in the train station parking lots for weeks on end knowing that it was probably owned by someone who perished on 9-11. She lost several friends that day and it changed her forever and made her even more staunchly conservative than she already was. The good Lord was looking over her on those two days.

I'll never forget for two solid reasons...….. my Dad passed away unexpectedly from a major heart attack at 12:30 on 9/10. On 9/11 I was driving in at 6:20 am to clear my day at the office to make funeral arrangements and a close friend called ask how I was doing and then said have you seen the news? I said no, he said get to your office and turn on the TV you ain't going to fucking believe it. Made it to the office in time to see the plane hit the second tower.

I took one phone call that morning from a longtime client who sounded terrible, I asked if she was alright and she said not really, my niece was on the 105th floor of tower 2.

Terrorists and the "leaders" hiding behind them deserve more severe punishment than they will ever receive.

Very bittersweet day for me.

On one hand, it is my daughter's 17th birthday today. I feel bad she has to share it with one of the most horrific attacks on our country.

On the other hand, I was across the river in NJ with 3 colleagues in a conference room on top of the Verizon HQ building negotiating a deal. We saw the first plane hit and were completely and utterly dumbfounded...speechless. We then saw #2 and all realized that we were under attack. The silence in the conference room was deafening.

We got out of there within 30 minutes and drove to Boston as I had family there and we were in no way going to be going back home to CA where I lived at the time.

It took us over 8 hours to make a 4 hour trip and I think the four of us said 10 words during the drive.

@Nik H it is for me also. I was rough growing up and had several friends die or go to prison. Then 9/11 happened. I was 20 and had my 2nd child on the way. After that day and some praying I enlisted, shipped out for boot camp in 2002, and deployed later in 2003. My youngest, and only son David was born 9/11/2003. I had just gotten home before his birth; after they prematurely declared mission complete and saw him born. It was a strangely short deployment. Anyhow, its bittersweet for me too. A very emotional memory filled day for sure.

My son was supposed to be born on this day, 18 years ago. She was induced the night before. He held on for 2 more days, and was born on my birthday. He'll be 18 years old, on Friday the 13th.

Lori was supposed to have started as the pastry chef for Windows on the World on 9-11. It was the restaurant at the top of the Trade Tower. She got sick. Called the Chef & told him, I must see my OB-GYN, something is wrong. He said, Lori, I have enough deserts to make it for a while, start tomorrow.

The Chef was on the ground floor getting his glasses fixed when the planes hit. Lori was in the doctors office watching the tv. I would have had to bring up a step daughter by myself if Lori did not get sick. I know nothing about raising little girls either.

I was a senior in high school getting ready to head to school. My Mother, a flight attendant for American Airlines since 1997, safely arrived home to LAX on 9/10/01 from Logan Airport in Boston. The following day, on 9/11, American Airlines flight 11 took off from Logan Airport in Boston en route to LAX. That flight was hijacked and flown into the WTC.

What a difference day makes. Like @Maxwell says, "The unseen hand of God."


Let today be a reminder we absolutely need to be unified in our resolve, and remain vigilant against terrorists who would enter our home and kill us because we don't believe what they believe, we live different than they do.

I had clients in there although I wasnt scheduled to be in there that day. I was on the Jersey side of the river. I have and uncle and best friend both who were supposed to be in there as thats where they worked. Both running late that day. No one seems to remember but the local team- the NY Jets played the Monday game the night before vs the Broncos and it went into OT. Very late on Eastern Time. Plenty of us up late with beer in hand yelling at the tube late the night before/morning of. Ive often wondered how many lives that game saved. Surprised no one else has ever mentioned it. Was a very big deal to us that happened. I still havent been able to bring myself to go to the memorial. My family had gotten a call from concerned friends as a picture of my wife and I was posted on the wall of the missing in the days after. The other couple in the pic we sat next to 2 weeks before at a wedding were the ones missing. We didnt know them other than that night, but I understand it was the last picture taken of one of them- we just happened to be in it as well. I certainly wont ever forget.

I was at work and a fellow employee was listening to Howard Stern . He said one of the towers was hit by a plane . As we continued to listen that morning more horror unfolded . Howard Stern was relaying info as he got it . At 9ne point he said that there were car bombs IIRC going off in some cities . I remember the owner of the company I worked for standinding with us listening to the radio when I told him in ten minutes I'm going home getting my pump gun , a couple boxes of shells and going to get my wife and kid . He started trying to calm me down telling me just relax don't go rushing off . Guy next to me said yeah in ten minutes I think I'm doing the same .It sounded like the world was coming unglued . I had gotten thru to my wife and she a$ured me that she and my daughter were both safe at the DayCare .
My wife was a supervisor there and she relayed aome storie of crying parents coming to get their kids who had family or husbands in the towers or vicinity and could not reach them .
My cousin that day was working in the Pentagon in an Army Colonel's office when he was summoned to a contractors meeting . That Colonel died in the fire . My cousin relayed that a significant number of people in hia Virginia neighborhood workerd in the Pentagon and several familiea suffered losses .
I personally did not suffer the loss of a family member or friend yet the horror and sadness of that day . Aw fuck it still hurts .
