One more SCOTUS decision that no one is talking about.

Actually no, they cannot. At least not the firearms stuff.

Um, what do you mean? They can cram in whatever "firearms stuff" they want that is permitted under Heller, which allowed for regulating weapons that are "extraordinarily dangerous" and restricting possession in a number of different areas (arenas, schools, medical offices, etc.).

So for example, the ATF may no longer be able to make arbitrary and capricious rules about the import of certain firearms that they feel violates GCA '68. But Congress can still pass an arbitrary and capricious bill like 922(r), or slip similar language into whatever must-pass bill is being considered at the moment.

Without a doubt, we've received two very good decisions in the past week. But the price of liberty is still eternal vigilance.

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. The agencies didn't 'steal" law making responsibility. Congress heaved it over the fence so they can collectively say; "I didn't write that. I didn't vote that. That's the EPA, ATF, SEC, CDC, FDA, etc..."

Yep. Also don't forget "one-off" events like the 2001 Authorization for be Use of Military Force, where Congress basically punted on its Constitutional responsibility to declare war and gave the sitting president a blank check. We're now 21 years, four presidents, and about $5 trillion into this without an end in sight.

Making Congress do its damn job as defined by the Constitution should be the #1 goal of anyone who wishes to defend our republic. Without it, very little else matters.

In spite of the recent SCOTUS rulings it would appear that CA, NY, NJ, etc... are ignoring the ruling(s) and doubling down on dipshit policies...

Short of armed insurrection and setting up guillotines on capitol lawns, how are folks supposed to address that?

Mike

The ones you listed would yield immediate results.
