OpEd: Are we losing it? ...Or, what are we losing?

Nicely done, style points awarded !

My thoughts on what we can do. First off, we can stop worrying about being identified as conservative, gun owning, activist, resistors. They can already find us with minimal effort. Are you a veteran? Do you have a carry permit? Do you belong to any gun advocacy groups? Do you shoot any three gun, NRA, PRS, etc. competitions? Have you bought any ammo or components in bulk for .308, .338, 9mm, .45. Have you purchased more than three firearms from an FFL in the last four years? I'm sure you guys can think of a slew more identifiers to include are you a member of SH. With access to the data how hard would it be to write a search program that would profile most any of you who have posted here?

Keep in mind that the Obama administration identified Veterans as being prone to "terrorism" recruitment https://www.cbsnews.com/news/dhs-domestic-terror-warning-angers-gop/. Seems we are pretty visible if anybody bothers to look.

The Parkland shooting was Feb. 14th. Within a few days demonstrations were called for by Parkland teachers. The Never Again title was coined. The demonstration. at the state capitol was organized. By Feb. 23 there Go Fund Me account had 2.3M. I have no idea whether that number reflects the huge donations reportedly from Soros, the Clooneys or Oprah. During all of this there was twenty-four hour news coverage by everyone from MSNBC to Fox News cable. They were supported by numerous liberal organizations who provided people, funding and direction. There were buses, parking areas, lists of people that volunteered their homes for lodging, etc. The main stage platform in DC had two jumbotrons so people could see from the back of the crowds. If anyone thinks this level of organization came from students their nuts. https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/21/us/parkland-shooting-student-activists-trnd/index.html

If we contrast the above to the so called pro-gun demonstrations at state capitols yesterday, it is easy to see why the turnout was minimal. So we know how the other side did it, the question is how do we do it? I would pick the Second Amendment Foundation as the organization to build on.
We need to construct an alliance of like minded people. Examples are state hunter's associations, species specific organizations (DU, RMEF, etc.), farm bureaus, shooting orgs. (Trap, threegun, skeet, NRA, cowboy action shooting, sporting clays, etc.) and more. Getting these groups on board will not be easy. They are covetous of their membership and resources but certainly a case can be made that they need to support the 2nd amendment. A simple first step is to change your voter registration to independent. The two major parties know they can depend, generally, on their registered voters. The independents are the ones they cultivate.

Consider what the Tea Party accomplished. They sent the left into a complete meltdown.

You're doing a wonderful job of showing everyone just who and what you are. You pathetic little hypocrite of a man. You really don't get it. Your very own words above scream to your pathetic inability to grasp the obvious. They're simply tired of your shit Gregory, capisce? Many of us are and have been. You've cut more people to the bone than I care to remember, yet when YOUR shit comes back at you you run to Mommy and Daddy just like @Maggot when things don't go your way. How fucking weak is that? You simply amaze me little man. You're not special Jimmy. None of us are. But you keep thinking you're some kind of special son of a bitch and we'll keep laughing our asses off at your expense. Now go lick a fucking boot.

Somebody's got sand in their vagina. Or is that a penis built of the former lips? Gteg can be an sasshole. So can all of us. From what Ive seen here hes more of a an than you can dream about being. Just my $00,02.

Can anyone help me estimate the range of this target? Fine hashes are 0.2mil apart, target is 10" vertical and 9" horizontal.

The Dos XX box painted white is the target.

I'm thinking 0.22mil +/- 0.04 or something.

Where are you ringing steel at 300 in New England? I can’t find steel here

There is a range located at 100 Woodcock Rd in Dartmouth, MA. It is owned by the city of New Bedford, MA. It is where the police train but it is open to civilians (other side of the range). If you are a MA resident, it costs $60/year to join. If you are in a state that borders MA, it costs $100/year. They have steel at 200, 300 and 500 yards. Targets are big. 10" diamonds are the smallest but occasionally someone will bring a setup with 4" plates at 500 which is a lot of fun.

It is a really rustic range as all of the membership $$$ goes into the town's coffers and they provide little to no maintenance $$$ but I hear that may be changing. At any rate, it is the only range with 500 yards available so it is an important facility. People are really nice and are avid shooters.

They don't advertise so there is little on-line. Just go there during the week and sign up.

I’m actually afraid to cross the border with guns into that state

Gentlemen, gentlemen, this thread has gone all OT. Lemme veer it back on course: Mister Greggy is right, all that is sacred and holy has annointed him, and we are miserable sinners for wanting the gift of unchallenged 2A.

And as for you Mods, it's so good to see how effective you are at doing the right thing...

Great site, The 'Hide, eh?

Personally, I like a minimal mod presence. My early days on the Internet included file transfers among the labs I worked with and Usenet news groups for entertainment. It was archaic by today's standards, with no mods - basically a free-for-all. I was OK with that 99.999% of the time. As long as the forum society is reasonably non-rabid, you get to understand who it is you are hanging out with.

Regarding 2a, I understand how political erosion works and am willing to work at building up the levies. You can't be complacent or the libtards will re-write all the rules, especially the ones they understand the least. All you need to do is to go back and watch the news right after 9/11 when liberals were scared that they would be killed by the terrorists. Remember? Back then, our armed forces and law enforcement were heroes. My, how the gravity of ignorance requires vigilance.

Yes, the Hide is a great site. Considering the collective strength of will of the members, we see very few pissing matches like this one.

Maybe we're missing something.

With the proper use of the ignore feature, relief is just a click away; and the Mods become about as unnecessary as tits on a boar.

Think about it.

And yes, the Hide is a great site, and with just a few judicious clicks on the Ignore feature, it can be even better.

As for the jackholes who were so certain they had me cornered, as far as I'm concerned, they no longer appear on my personal copy of The 'Hide, and the whole outlook is just so much more reasonable.

The Dumb Shits, if they didn't like my ideas so much, all they had to do was ignore me; BUT NOOOO, they had to launch a rabid week long multimedia offensive.

I'm free and clear, it's just the rest of SH that is doomed to endure them now.

Too bad, that...

Just plain stupid. I shoulda done it sooner myself too, but relief turned out to be just a few clicks away, so things look much better now. So easy...

Greg

Fixed it for ya. And ya, you're gonna look. You can't help it.

Reap what you sow.

Laughing, you were not cornered, you trapped yourself, plus you are still looking for a mod bail out. Now the ignore button is your salvation again. When is your next flop happening? Keep being like the fish you have been all my time here. Don't worry it's all backed up just in case you try your normal shit down the road.

The inherent problem with the "ignore" feature is that:

10 You have had enough and don't want to hear anything ever again from someone who is upsetting you
20 Turn on ignore and all should be bliss
30 You find you can't stand to not know what people are saying behind your back
40 Tun off ignore so you can see what has been said about you by said party while you couldn't see
50 Go to 10

Looks pretty BASIC to me.

Details/specs/components/'smith on your new build there sir? Gorgeous nonetheless & versatile too! Nice medium weight/contour + size that I wouldn't hesitate to take it out for use in either:
- a fun/casual yet daytime dynamic mid-large unit conventional ops picnic and/or dinner practice
or
- the real deal / serious NAF(neighborly as fuck!)nighttime HSLD covert small unit dinner operations

Either way, well done sir!
