I was just wondering if you could have a bolt opened from .473 to a .535 to accept a 300 win mag.. I think the sizes are right.. I'm not a gun smith but could I just have it opened up to accept it vs. buying another bolt body from PTG.. And does anyone know who would do it if it can be done? I'm thinking about changing a 30-06 to a 300 win mag. Thanks

Yes - this can be easily accomplished by a gunsmith. A lot of guys go ahead and have a Sako or M-16 style extractor installed while they're having the work done.

Any competant rifle smith that does precision rifle work should be able to do this.
