Rifle Scopes Optic Identification help (Leupold)

Hi all,

Was hoping for some help in confirming this Leupold optic (I'm not knowledgeable in this at all). The search function gave me similar optics but not quite the same model so I wasn't sure if the information was the same. Seems this is an older model though. Hoping for a value as well!

It says Vari-X III 3.5-10 x 40mm Long Range on the front. It has a duplex reticle.

Before the Mark 4 LR/T scopes there was the Vari-X III Long Range line and my memory on this is hazy but 30mm tubes had M1 and M3 dials, the 1" tubes had the covered target turrets. You should be able to call Leupold and check the serial number to confirm legitimacy also but it looks like a real Leupold. Value is probably between $600-$700.

I’ve got a retired Leupold Vari-X III long range 8.5-25X50 w/ M1 knobs (30mm tube and a mildot reticle) as well as a 4.5-15 x40 Vari-X III long range (one inch tube and duplex reticle) with covered target knobs.

Both of these scopes are 20+ years old..
