Placed an order, as they said order last time, all the B/S I went threw to get it was a fluke. Same B/S this go round.
Ordered, said to be two day, door to door again. It's been a week today. I'll never order from them ever again. Bait an switch operation to me.

I'd be upset too if they failed to uphold their end. I'm not independently wealthy so I can't just spend money on things and forget about them.

Maybe they will read this and get their shit together.

I don't disagree that it's frustrating. but sometimes when you find a deal you just have to jump on it. good news is, lots of other places to order like you mentioned.

i know whenever i order from OP, they send it FedEx, which then does the stupid "drive past my house to take it to USPS to deliver next day" crap.

That's the problem with ordering your stuff to be sent to a residential address.
FedEx charges about $5 to $10 more per package to deliver it to you themselves vs having the post office deliver it, depending on your location.

So for small items of lower value, unless you want to pay more, many vendors use some kind of system like that from UPS, FedEx or DHL which all have the same basic program with the post office.
I would however not expect anything high value or rather big to be sent that way as it would be a bit counter intuitive.

It's the fall out from all the idiots demanding "free shipping" or "flat rate shipping" etc, you still pay the shipping, it's just now rolled into your prices and you get the cheapest / crappiest delivery possible.

Several years ago I was burned twice by them, told the same story as Gunfighter, with exactly the same result both times. Now if they are the only source of something I need, I find an alternate solution. There are too many good vendors out there to waste time with their type of BS.

I'm just sayin':

http://www.cameralandny.com/

The dude's here ALL the time. I order all over the place, but I've never had anything but a positive experience with Cameraland.

Yeah, they squared me away on a VERY nice tripod for a really good price. Even extended the sale for me because I contacted 'em late. Definitely keep them in mind in the future.

Eurooptic has also been good when I've used them. I get a most scopes on here or ebay though and have pretty good results.

I don't understand why someone would order from them when there are quite a few vendors this site that actually get your scope to you in a few days. Sport Optics and liberty optics to name a few and whose price are usually better than Optics Planet.

I ordered a trigger from OP. Ordered on the 4th. Shipped on the 6th. Delivered to my door on the 9th. Cheapest shipping option selected. Maybe I'm not sufficiently picky, but 5 days was no big deal, and I was able to shoot the match that weekend with the new trigger. Maybe I'm just lucky. I should buy a lotto ticket...

not applicable for OP as i don't think they sell ammo, but if you add a super cheap box of .22 to your order, they can't hand it off to usps so ups or fedex delivers it all the way.

Yep

I placed one order with OP because they were super cheap on some dies if I remember right. Same story as everyone else - 2 weeks later I had no package - contacted them and was told one of the items that showed in stock wasn't actually in stock, and they were going to hold my shipment until it showed up - no estimate for when it would arrive, but at least another 3-4 weeks. I cancelled and ordered elsewhere. The $5 I saved wasn't worth the hassle.

My order of preference is SWFA first, and then all the SH vendors, and only OP if I've passed away and my son is too stupid to buy elsewhere. Maybe I'll leave a note to that effect on my tombstone - "Brad passed away while waiting on shipment from optics planet."

Just OP bein' OP, with all the information available here and elsewhere not sure why anyone would expect otherwise...
Only excuse to go with Optics Planet would be if you really intended on Euro Optics but were severely dyslexic. Other than that no excuses. I mean the list of reputable dealers that have serviced Hide members for a long time, is impressive. I have used most of them with pleasure.

I think I'm too used to forum shorthand. No matter what in this thread I keep thinking that everyone is referring to OP as in original poster.
Well the "op" is a little off. (Others will be along shortly to agree, I'm sure) I am Gunfighter14e2 an I approve of this message.
BTW it did come in 3 days late I might add, they said an FNG put it in the wrong shipping pile. Interesting as that is the same thing they said last time. FNG my ass, quoted an touted 2 day shipping then blamed it on a FNG, std bait an switch if you ask me. Ordering another ir laser before the end of the week but, no way in hell will it be from them, even if they paid me to take it. I hate lairs !!!!!!

I take it you prefer dungeons? I'm a fan of castles myself. Though you cant turn down a great lair built into a volcano. Those are cool. :)

I dislike liars as well.

Problem with optics planet is that they list things as in stock, and when you place the order, you don’t know what’s going on unless you call. I ordered a mount earlier this year and after a week, I decided to call them to see what was up. I was told that it was on order and that it should be to me in about a month.

The free shipping option may be at the heart of your displeasure in this instance. I think a lot of companies that offer 'free shipping' and then give you option to pay for a different shipping method are beginning to 'teach' us a lesson. If you want it shipped now, as soon as we can process, and shipped via an effective carrier, you WILL pay the upcharge. Free shipping costs somebody, somewhere, so, since it's a lower cost option to you the seller is looking to see you get lesser value from this option. So, it's either shipped in a crappy method or goes to the back of the line for packing and shipping. just my thoughts from a business perspective.

I can say if you buy from OP on eBay and order from OP proper (with free shipping option) - you WILL receive eBay shipment much faster than OP direct order. In my case, TWO days vs TEN days.

So you would rather pay the inflated eBay price which has to be higher than what they can sell for direct to make up for the cut eBay takes so that you could get quicker "free" shipping.... It would probably be cheaper just to order it directly and have them charge you what the shipping you would actually like costs for any larger items.
