I dont have a need for drops on the reticle since I dont use this rifle for shots past 200 yds.
YMMV.

I was just going to recommend this as well. The Trijicon is a TRUE 1x scope, not a 1x that is actually 1.2x or 1.5x. It's a true 1:1 magnification. The BAC reticle is perfect for quick target acquisition, and it is still very accurate at longer ranges.
To be realistic, you ARE shooting a .458SOCOM, not a 7mm Mag. Extreme long range shots won't occur for you, and if they do, you're not dealing with a round that is designed to be employed at longer ranges. You're basically looking at a round that was designed to penetrate auto safety glass or knock out the engine on a moving vehicle. A 1-4x scope is really more than adequate.
Don't buy a scope for the "what-if once in a lifetime chance" situation. Buy a scope for the "99.5% of the time" situation.
if it's just for hunting, something that might be more up your alley might be in the realm of a Leupold UltimateSlam 2-7x33 scope for $260 with the BDC reticle. Also, the Nikon SlugHunter 1.65-5x36 with BDC reticle, or the Nikon Buckmasters 3-9x40 with BDC reticle.
But that's just my opinion.
