So kind of niche deal, but I want to have a barrel done strictly for hunting in the dense Louisiana woods. Some of our stands are as close as 50yd shots, some you can get to about 250yds. Vegetation doesn’t really allow for anything farther than that.
Thinking in order of bullet priority, #1 is shooting the heavy 220gr all copper subsonics like the t-Rex well. I’m flexible on the supers bullet selection to whatever matches the ideal twist for #1, but assume that would be an all copper heavy bullet as well given the length of such.
16.5” barrel. It will have a suppressor and I want to be able to get the gun in and out of shooting windows quickly. Back to the dense vegetation aspect, sometimes you only have seconds depending on what lane the deer are crossing.
Thought about blackout, but I really want the extra speed on the supers.
Other random but related question: can you over spin solid copper bullets?
