I've been reading alot about these scopes over the last 2 months & then at the SHOT show I go to play with them for awhile at the Kelbly's booth - it sealed the deal for me!!

I was looking for a sleek tactical style scope to put on my 7MM Mag being built by Mike Bush @ Skunkworks Rifles. This rifle will be used for hunting purposes out west.

Here's what I ordered (I know it won't fit alot of members needs on here, but I wanted it for a hunting rifle):

*March 2.5-25x42mm

*Tactical Turrets w/ 1/4 MOA adjustments & zero stop feature

*Di-Plex reticle, non-illuminated

*Second focal plane

*30mm tube

Anyone else ever run one on a hunting style set-up??

The wait is 3 months - I was told by Kelby's that each scope is "made to order" one at a time.

Re: Ordered a March Tactical scope yesterday

From the spec sheet for my scope:

100 MOA of windage travel

100 MOA of elevation travel

25 MOA per turn

side focus parallax adjustment

length = 12.3"

weight = 22 oz.

eye relief = 3.9" (high end)

Who care's if it doesn't fit others preception of a "tactical" scope. It's your money, get what you want. I know if I had the money, I'd have a March on the way to me as well. Good for you!

Re: Ordered a March Tactical scope yesterday

I really want one of the 3-24 Tactical FFP that they are coming out with. So kelby is the only place to order them? The only negative part of a March would be the 5 year warranty unless they changed that. That would hurt resale quite a bit, but who knows until these things start floating around here.

what makes this scope "tactical"?
with the MOA turrets, is the reticle also MOA? </div></div>

The turrets are "tactical style" - they also have "hunting style turrets" which are covered. I went with the hunting di-plex reticle & 1/4 MOA tactical turrets.

March also makes a FFP scope & can be had with mil adjustments & mil type reticles.

Kelbly's is the only US Distributor - they were great to work with!!

Only a 5 year warranty - it kinda sucks, but it is what it is. I was informed that Japanese law sets warranty limits on products based on company size. March is a very small company - something like only 10 or 12 employees total - thats why the 5yr warranty.

Check out Kelbly's website (www.kelbly.com) - they have a link to the March website.

Re: Ordered a March Tactical scope yesterday

The 2.5-25x42 mil version looks interesting. Lots of erector travel, great mag range. It would be nice to see a bigger picture of the reticle and its substensions.

Re: Ordered a March Tactical scope yesterday

I also checked these out at SHOT and they did look nice. The warranty is annoying and since it has to go back to Japan, I wonder if Kelby's would take care of it like S&B who, IMHO, has the best deal...they just send you a loaner.

I'm also finding it hard to part with this kind of money for a Japanese scope. I guess I'll wait to let some other people do more "beta testing".

Re: Ordered a March Tactical scope yesterday

Feature and weight look great....but one US distributor, not much of a warranty and no warranty support here in the US was enough to convince me I don't want one. They are going to have to put there money where there mouth is so to speak and provide a decent warranty before I try one.

I agree with you about the warranty & only 1 Distributor (it does suck), but after playing with the scope at SHOT, I had to try one.

Re: Ordered a March Tactical scope yesterday

Hope so - LOL!!!

I've read alot of good reviews/info about them so I'm going to be optimistic. I have a back-up S&B scope sitting in the safe just in case..........

Re: Ordered a March Tactical scope yesterday

I've been looking at these scopes hard. To me they are the holly grail of scopes. Super good FOV at low end plenty of mag for longer shots and target shooting. Plus enough elevation to get just about any caliber way out there. All in a nice slim light weight package. Just a awesome scope! Plus the retical is like duplex at lower power and is a ranging retical at higher, it has it all!! I really like these scopes.

Re: Ordered a March Tactical scope yesterday

I have 2 and they are pretty amazing.

I have the 2.5-25 and the 5-50. I got both in SFP and with moa reticle.

A lot of scope for the money. I also found Ilya's review very helpful.
