Good evening all
Im in the market for a stock upgrade. I have a Tikka T3X CTR 24" in 6.5CM. I'm not a fan of the factory stock. Im looking at either the Oryx or the KRG Bravo. But Im open for suggestions on other stocks as well. $750 is the max I'm willing to send.
Thank you. I value everyone's opinion
I would ask what physical size you are, and let that somewhat drive your decision. I currently have both in my hands (the Oryx is on a buddy's mini Howa action), and the big difference to me is size. The Oryx seems better suited to those of a smaller stature, though I don't mean to imply that it is small or shorter. It just feels much more...trim or slender.
The Bravo (conversely) seems to fill the hand/shoulder, but without all the weight of some chassis systems.
Both have accessories and such (ARCA rails, bag riders, adjustable buttpads, etc), with an edge to the Bravo (which makes sense, since KRG has been around for a LONG time comparatively).
Both are solid chassis systems, so as I said, I'd let your size drive the decision. If you're a moderately big guy, definitely go with the Bravo. If you a medium to small guy, an Oryx may fit/suit you better.
You're in a good spot, in that there are at least two good options to choose from, for a low cost chassis. It was not always the case, so it's good times right now for new LR shooters... (when I got back into this game, it was Mcree or XLR, and that was it).
