Has anyone else had this problem with Magpul P-Mags? It seems like the lips on the mag stick to the round and slow the bolt from chambering a round. Ive got 2 ARs and get the same results. Regular mags work fine. Any help would be appreciated

Re: P-Mags wont feed, wtf?

Better yet, make sure you dont have 31 rounds in it. Most every pmag I have used will take 31, and this will stop your carrier in its tracks. Try 28 rounds, if it still does it, check your buffer spring next.

+1
The Magpul guys are top notch. I have close to 30 MagPul Pmags and have suffered no failures with them....EVER.

one would hope a magazine made to hold a given number of rounds would function properly with that many rounds inside it.

if it doesn't, it's not up to the user to under-load it in the hopes it will work. it's up to the company to replace it with a magazine that does what it's supposed to do.

Re: P-Mags wont feed, wtf?

they are 20 round mags, I have to slam the forward assist almost every other round I guess I am gonna try some dry lube and see what happens, then call magpul of problems persist. It just seems weird that every one (5) has this problem.

Re: P-Mags wont feed, wtf?

I have some 20 round Pmags but have not tryed them. My experience is with the 30 rounders.
I still say if you simply pick up the phone and call Magpul they will be more than happy to help. I have met several of those guys over the last year or so and they are customer driven.
Sometimes guys (me included) like to think we can fix anything with lube or a Dremel. Don't waste your time worrying over the issue. Magpul can tell you what the trouble is.

Re: P-Mags wont feed, wtf?

Have early and late production 20 round P mags. All perform w/o issue. However, I did replace the buffer spring with a touch stiffer unit. My factory buffer springs were starting to show slight issues prior to changing to P Mags.

Edit: I have one mag that I run with a suppressor for demonstrations. The thing is flat nasty/dry/doesn't run in a couple other AR's due to how dirty it is. Not one hold up since changing springs. Carbon clings to it and the buildup is quite a bit.

Re: P-Mags wont feed, wtf?

I recently picked up some 20rd PMag's and haven't had any issues with them, but i haven't used them a lot yet either. Like lots of others suggested, contact Magpul. I think they will take care of you.

Re: P-Mags wont feed, wtf?

IdahoMike, I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your PMAG 20's. No lube or down loading should be necessary for them to function. If there is still a problem please send me a PM with background info I will make sure you are taken care of.
