Padded Cheek?

Ok so I just put my MOE carbine but stock on my DPMS LR 308, & shot about 20 rnds. Now my jaw is a little sore. What can I put on there to give a little padding for my next comp? Obviously it can't be very thick or it will interfere with the charge handle so I thought maybe a piece of mouse pad? Anyone have something better?

You can try some of the self adhesive foam pads that you find at craft stores or in the craft section at Walmart. The padding isn't very thick so it shouldn't interfere with the charging handle and it comes in tactical black and shit brown so it should look alright with the Magpul colors. I use some on my AICS cheek piece for some padding and grip so it's not as slippery in hot weather.

If you want to go REALLY cheap, an old mousepad and some quality tape will work in a pinch but the thickness may be a bit much depending on your specific needs.

Also, Kick Eez, the recoil pad company, makes a product called "Cheek Eez" which is a stick-on type padding that comes in various thicknesses starting around 1/16" and going up to around 1/4" IIRC. Pachmayr also makes some "rubbery" sheets with peel/stick backing called Pac-Skin that are really more designed for "grip" but do offer padding too. They come in sheets that are ~2mm thick and can be "stacked" if you need more padding.

Whether any of the above will work for you will depend on where you need the padding and how much you need because of possible CH interference that you observed.

Really after 20rds your jaw is a little sore, you need to toughen up a little, raise your sights up to get your comfort form pillow on there, or get botox to plump you cheek up.

My favorite DIY cheek pad when I couldn't throw a eagle stock pack on there is cut a mouse pad to size and super glue that bitch to the stock.


Sticky, cheap, comfortable and usually adds about .1" of height depend on the pad.
