Pants for shooting matches?

I'm currently using Duluth Fire Hose pants that accept a knee pad. They work but I'd like to see what else others are using. The knee pad being the only requirement I'm looking for.

What you got? I like pictars and links if possible.

I’m using the UF Pro P-40 all terrain pant. Super durable very comfortable knee pads are always in the right spot, and the dual opening cargo pockets are great. Spendy but worth it. UF Pro

Another vote for UF Pro. Stryker HT, XT, P-40's and the newest Stryker X are all GTG. Admittedly though, the new X versions aren't much better than the XT/HT versions, so not worth the extra coin IMHO.

ETA: FYI, these are not really designed for the...husky....build. Athletic? Yes. Stocky and muscled? Yes. Pudgy, overweight and carrying a Michelin gator back around the waist, and sporting thigh chaffing from excess fat? Not so much....

They are damned comfortable though...

You're overthinking it. Any sort of pants will do, if there's going to be any rooftops or kneeling on gravel or concrete then shorts aren't the best choice unless you bring a set of knee pads too.

UF Pro here. They have some padding built in, so i've never used the flex pads I bought to go in them.

I would throw a pair of real knee pads in my kit if you have real knee problems and need to protect them. I would not rely on those insert ones.
ALTA makes nice ones if you don't want the floor laying kind. I like the ones that fasten upper and lower rather than directly behind the knee (which always irritates the backs of my knees).

For those of you that wear the UF Pro pants, are they true to size and what knee pads work the best for gravel, the 3D tactical, or the solid version? Seeing more gravel on stages and I have nerve damage in my right knee.

For gravel, their flexible polymer insert along with the integral padding is fine (and they pack up small/flat in a pack).

TBH. I have both types pf the knee pads, and rarely need them (the integral pads are usually plenty enough). The polymer ones though, tend to act like a hard plastic knee pad (with the integral knee pad of the pant) that you'd wear when tiling the floor or some such activity.

As fr size, follow the measuring instructions on the website. Their measurements are true to that guide (which is pretty close to true size...not the fat boy 1" over actual measurement of US clothes, that makes people "feel" good).

I do have some of these from Columbia. They’re just regular pants... I can wear them anywhere, and they’re not too stifling in the heat. The pocket on the leg is the perfect spot for my markers I use with my DOPE card.

Edit: It was 76*, at my house, on Sunday. Today was 0* when I got up. It went from 76* to below freezing in less than 12 hours Sunday afternoon to Monday AM.

Not that I need to defend myself, but I will any ways b/c it's a slow day at work... I played rugby for years and I shot plenty of matches over the last few years... I've been a MD, a shooter, once I was late enough I was a spectator. Most days I am wearing Carhart work pants, really hot days I've got a pair of Day on the Fly pant from Duluth trading b/c that's what was in my closet.

If you get issued a pair of cool pants at work wear them to the match, if you got jeans wear them to the match, heck one dude shows up in cargo shots and cat shirts and still out shoots a lot of guys.

There isn't going to be one pair of pants that is "best" for all bodies and all climates or terrains.

They’re expensive but have you looked at the Mountain Pants by Sitka? Removable knee pads, versatile across a wide range of temperatures... Not sure if you hunt, too. They’re offered in two different camo patterns and a dark shade of tan.
