You could argue that it violates the spirit of the constitution, similar to the 18th amendment, but the fact that stopping income tax would require repealing an amendment sort of hints that currently it is not unconstitutional.

Income tax in its current rendition and at current rates is entirely counter to the intentions of our Founding Fathers, and even then, the premise is entirely a necessary evil in the eyes of pretty much every signature on The Constitution. It's is not a Constitutional ideal in its current form, it is not fair, it is an amendment which while originally congruent with the process of our Republic is in reality antithesis to it. The Sixteenth Amendment was ratified by the requisite number of states on February 3, 1913, not the Founding Fathers. Then the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 was passed, which hold on to your tits— is unconstitutional and counter to the values of our Founding Fathers. A national bank was not one of the enumerated powers of the federal government in the constitution, and Jefferson specifically reviled such a notion. He said on the matter, “To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power, no longer susceptible of any definition.”
So tell me what that means. Does it mean our government can do now harm to our Constitution, cannot invalidate it once done? Does that mean taking 37% of your labor at gunpoint is liberty? The Framers were against such things, very much so. Many initial tax agendas were perpetuated in times of crisis, and not in the interest of liberty or The Constitution. In short, fuck the 16th Amendment's embellishments and it's foundation of mass misappropriation. I certainly don't deny it exists, but whether it belongs and is in line with the original intention of the document it became a part of is another issue entirely. One of these things is not like the other.
Prohibiting the Federal Government from taxing your labor/intellectual property, and the tangible and intangible fruits of those labors was a key part of the "limited" nature of the Republic. The Federalist Papers make it abundantly clear that the Founders believed that taxing business transactions and imported goods from foreign countries (tariffs) was the only legitimate form of national taxation. Jefferson went to great lengths to destroy any doubt that a just government does not pass laws to turn law abiding citizens into criminals, and it does not steal from it's citizens. Any tax that is taken by force from an unwilling citizen is stealing, period. There is no way around it when a tax on transactions or importation is a voluntary tax. You know what it's going to cost, and it is your decision to pay it or not.

There's really nothing else for it.

So imagine our surprise when the Sheriff involved in the standoff between New York authorities and a combat military veteran on Saturday night accused us of “domestic terrorism” for reporting on the situation.
His email came after we released the story, in which we noted inconsistencies amongst media outlets.

This article is yet another example of domestic terrorism by spreading lies and fear which places not only the officers in the Town of Carmel in harm’s way, but it is placing the men and women of my department in harm’s way along with their families.
In this volatile society where law enforcement is labeled the enemy by so many radical groups in the USA it is apparent that LET does not take the safety of our LEO’s into consideration but would rater side with fake news to further the targeting of LEO’s.

…It is sad that no one is looking at the fact we have a veteran who suffers from PTSD who is falling through the cracks of our veterans administration. I thank Mr. Booth for his service to our great county which failed him as it has many of our veterans. I know he will now receive the proper care he needs while in the custody of our jail and we will do everything to ensure he is set up to succeed upon his release. I pray that Mr. Booth overcomes his personal struggle with PTSD so that he may one day reunite with his family.

Their phones were dead in less than 2 hours, their 911 was killed in less than an hour, their commo was rousted, and even their VHS comms were hijacked.
