Why not build rifles that were promised? Now they just ignore them and sell barrels?
Not sure if PVA is to blame on my order. But ordered an all composite stock october 16. Lead time is 10 days. After a month i contacted Josh on IG, he always responded quickly but it didnt get the ball rolling on the stock. Emailed Joe another month later, quick response, but not much on an exact lead time. Finally contacted matt from paradigm carbon. Super awesome dude and im not sure if its coincidence, but a day or so later, pva finnally emailed back saying my stock is being shipped. Shipped December 20th ish. Just weird feeling as if i had to be the middleman between the 2 companies when its a near 2k stock. I wasnt in a rush so it didnt get me mad or frustrated but did make me anxious knowing my cc was charged and the original lead time was 10 days. I hope to order carbon paradigm barrel. but will try at all costs to go directly thru matt himself. Stock is currently delayed due to weather to LRI for paint work and assembly with mausingfield 2.0 in 7ss.

We had a bitch of a storm roll through here Sat/Sun. Interstate finally got opened up around 10am today. Almost all USPS comes from Sioux Falls so it's lagging a bit. Soon as it arrives, we'll be in touch.
Sending you a PM to track this down, I don't know what the issue is on a 14wk time but we'll figure it out tomorrow. I'm sending you my # now to get in touch.Sort of. I'm 14 weeks in on a barrel order. I've been told it's shipping out in a week every week since November 14th. Thought I'd give them one more chance with this order...
I was pro PVA, until they BS me. For those who purchased "straight taper" contour bbls, check your taper. Its not to spec, for example M24 or MTU. they have a straight cylinder at the muzzle end for about ~2-6". Which is fine, but there is no mention of it on their website that i could find.
Also the last bbl I ordered, MTU, had chatter wavy lines near the muzzle and there were multiple tapers. And PVA says, it suppose to look like that. Also told me everyone does Straight cylinder at the muzzle end for straight taper bbls. That's BS, the spec sheet should mention that.

Amen!looking forward to pics of that rifle
Our lead time is down to a couple weeks and we have stuff on the shelf for immediate shipment in the top 10 configuration barrels that we have ordered. I've sent a couple PM's to the recent posters on here that mentioned issues. Sometimes things get missed. Joe does a really good job at getting back to people, better than I or Jeremy ever did to be honest. I look at the email inbox every day and it's up to date every day. Sometimes though I don't hear about something for a little bit because I'm running machines and he's running around doing barrel polishing, answering phones, laser engraving... lots of stuff for the two of us to do. When we miss something I try to do my best to make it right as soon as we can.

Hey Duo, let's tell the whole story. I have accepted a lot of responsibility for being late, dropping the ball on things but I cannot stand by and listen to someone bold face lie about the service they received because I refused to be extorted for free merchandise... merchandise which you came back 2 weeks later and purchased on a sale discount anyway.
You forgot the part where you attempted to extort us for hundreds of dollars of refunds or free products because you took issue with the way the barrel was contoured. When I said I was going to send you a call tag to return it and we would re-polish the "chatter wavy" marks (that turned out to simply be where the polishing belt was lifted off the blank during finishing) you wanted the discount instead. So adamant about the discount were you that you cussed me sideways on the phone and threatened to make sure everyone on "the Hide" knew about it.
Let's paint the true timeline which is quantifiable via shipping manifests:
Day 0: you ordered a custom barrel
Day 2: the barrel is finished near end of day after freight pickup
Day 3: barrel is picked up by the freight company
Complaints and threats ensue from you. We issue a call tag so you can return the barrel amid complaints that it's still not acceptable and we should pay you nearly a 40% rebate.
Day 4: barrel arrives, we re-polish it and photo-document the finished part. Send it back out.
To be extremely clear with folks here reading this:
We put a straight cylinder portion at the front of the barrel so that we can better hold it in a turning center. We have some pretty slick workholding but grabbing a taper on a small length and then swinging a 7lb+ object that's 26" long and hoping it doesn't runout whatsoever is disaster. I've been putting a straight section on the front now for over 5 years. Several places have also adopted it, and Remington has been doing it on their production barrels for 50+ years. It's hardly my idea. The result though is well worth it and the only way to see it is with a set of calipers or if we make a mistake on final polish. There is absolutely no detrimental effect to accuracy as I think everyone will agree based on the well established performance of our rifle barrels.
Duo here has at least 4 other barrels from us in similar contours with the same exact feature. Every order he's seen fit to complain about something and ask for free product of some sort, each time the demand gets bigger. We started photo-documenting his orders prior to shipping so that when the inevitable complaint comes in we have "before it left" proof of what was in the box. This time we finally had enough. He was mad when I didn't agree to simply give him 2 free brakes or $200 back but rather I sent a call tag. So here we are, partial truths and slander online.
"The customer is always right" holds water, however when the customer purposefully lies about something in an effort to get free product I won't be party to it even if it means I need to stand up for myself publicly.
I wish it went smoother for us as well, sorry for that. I dropped the ball following up with them initially but I'm glad you got it now. I think we've done a good job stepping in the right direction and getting things squared up but occasionally some stuff does fall through the cracks and we're trying to keep after it when we don't see stuff right away from vendors and suppliers. Matt is solid, I was on the phone with him for a while tonight and they're doing a great job bringing that stock from an "artisinal" niche piece more to the forefront where more people know about it. Thank you for being patient with us to get it to you, if you need anything else on it please let me know.
I'm sure you'll love that stock, it's a gorgeous piece of work. I look forward to seeing the paint from Chad when they get done with it, their stock work is superb.
Amen!

Yet you keep going back to the well...Lets get it right Josh, i didnt extort anything from you. I asked if "possibly". Did i ask too much? Sure, and i backed off. You didnt even try to compromise. I certainly DID NOT "DEMAND" from you. Who's slandering who?
You mentioned about your straight cylinder and its posted on your website, nothing like that is on there.
Yes i bought 4 bbls from you. 1st bbl complaint was my fault, i admitted to that. Last bbl had chatter marks and you tell me it suppose to be "like that". I mentioned a post where another member had a messed up contour, you tell me there was nothing wrong, but you posted "something went awry there" hell i even sent you the link to the post and straight lied to me over the phone!
If you documented all my orders, how come you didnt document the chatter on the last ordered barrel? I mean, if i one to complain all the time, for all the orders that you state, why not make sure that last barrel was good to go? Why send me a bbl with multiple tapers.
Alotta SH members here know you bullshit.
Yet you keep going back to the well...
You can lead a horse to water but that doesn’t mean you want to hear him bitch about little inconsequential shit.
Tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he lied. Tried to pull a fast one! So DONE!
We're done with it. Email and phone calls have been tried, his "issue" has been remediatedMaybe take this spat to PM or email? I can’t be the only one bored with the back and forth.
On a stock? Actually, I'll send you a PM now so we can get that hemmed together.Im still waiting order approx a year ago.
Thank you, that is the new standard we're striving for.I've ordered and received 4 barrels from PVA. 3 barrels in less than 30 days and one was a little longer.
Accuracy is outstanding. PVA has done well by me.
Keep up the good work
@bohem.
