Paypal now requiring bank account or SS#

I've never used PP without linking a bank account, no biggie here. I'm not sure what the big deal is over all this. I don't want to give PP one penny of "float" on MY money any longer than I have to.

So you have to link a bank account to it either way? In order to spend, you have to draw from bank account?

My understanding is to either link to your personal bank account or sign up for theirs which includes the typical banking info that is supposedly not supposed to be used as identification.

Back in the day they sent me an email saying I reached the limit I could spend through them without becoming “verified”. Apparently verified meant linking a bank account. I waited until they cut me off to resolve their request as sort of a security check. Never had a problem with their function before or after.

PayPal is the worst. I have been around and around with them so many times. Wish there was another means of instant payment that I understood and trusted

I agree with the above sentiment. However, what I have found is that “friends/family” payments cannot be charged a fee. So that actually undermines PP in that they have to use resources and $ while providing a free product.

Be careful whenever linking your bank account with anyone other than you.

If paypal effs up how many weeks on the phone to correct?

If they get hacked who's on the hook?

In the digital world everything is easy till something goes wrong. Then it can be a mother effer.
