Re: Pelican 1750 Rifle Case
The rifle is in there so tight it doesn't move at all, there is a small piece of high density foam near the top turret of the scope so I'm confident it will be ok when travelling.
I did a lot of searching and never came across the BOYT cases? Being in Australia we pay ludicrous shipping costs for anything larger than a shoe box so when I found a local Pelican dealer I went with that, he only had one 1750 in stock and gave me $180 discount with my ABN.
The case didn't come with foam so I bought it myself and had the nice girl at the store cut the shape for me with her special band saw.
All worked out quite well actually

Expensive but worth it as <span style="color: #FF0000">these are the only cases suitable for taking on planes</span> with this type of weapon. </div></div>
I would have chosen the BOYT case for your application. I've handled Pelican, Hardigg and BOYT and it's easily as rugged or more and it gives you a fraction more interior length and plenty of width and depth all for a lower price.

Normally I would just dismiss that comment, because as long as the entire thing is encased in foam, upside down or right side up will make no difference as the rest of the foam is supporting the rifles weight and preventing it from causing undue stress on the optics.
HOWEVER, it looks like the current configuration has the turret protruding all the way through the foam and there isn't much, or anything that will prevent it from contacting the hard shell of the case. Not Good.
I personally wouldn't want any part of my rifle or glass touching the sides of a hard case. The G force of an impact won't have anywhere to go except directly into your gun. </div></div>
