Actually, Nancy Pelosi is the only person in SF history that I'm aware of to be issued a CCW. It's also legal to own guns here. But now I feel like I desperately need to move if Nancy Pelosi is my neighbor.

The building they're in looks pretty old. But I'm sure they have retrofitted security. Also as I said... there's usually off-duty LEO van parked across the street from their place. But other than that, it seems pretty quiet. I've never noticed any other security or people milling about.

That's just bad reporting. They weren't both holding separate hammers. They were fighting over possession of the same hammer, is more likely. I read that the guy was trying to tie Paul Pelosi up and wait for Nancy to get home. My guess is once Paul heard police enter he tried to grab the hammer away and that's when the guy pulled it out of his hands and whacked Paul with it. But who knows.
