Your top photo looks like you're definitely on the Nevada side, and the secomd to the last two photos also. The second and last photo look like down on the coastal ranges. Where you at? </div></div>

Top one is the Nevada side, looking down into Suprise Valley, Cedarville, Ca. The second is south of Sonora Ca. Third and fourth are both N. Nevada, 40 miles east of Cedarville. Side note, do you remember the "stoopels" in the 90s they got stuck in N. Nv heading to a wedding, lost some toes, about died out there. Well they walked right by the cow camp in the third picture. Fifth picture is where I am at now, Elk Creek, Ca.

Our company puts them together, but that does require climbing (several times) to the top of each tower. We are not responsible for the maintenance, however.

Yes, the blue (Liebherr 1600) one isn't the biggest crane we use (Manitowoc 18000); but it's the biggest one on the current project I'm on.

To build them, you really don't need any schooling. It's kind of the "clean" version of an oil field roughneck. The pay is good - but it varies a lot based on your position.

I'm on the other side of this stuff. Finishing up my schooling for working on them this next week. Moving to southwest UT to work as a technician on them for GE. Deffinately good pay to be had, and oportunity to move up, just need to be willing to relocate in most cases.

Yes, I remember them. We left Fallon heading for Helena, MT. in THAT storm. Those two idiots kept turning down smaller and smaller roads in a storm like that. ....Then come out like they were heroes for hanging on and saving their babies life. Sheesh!! They almost killed themselves! Weren't they finally found in Hell's Canyon?

Been up through Cedarville a number of times. Couldn't quite place exactly where you were at. I went along with a friend of mine when he took his younger boy deer hunting between Vya and Mosquito lake, over on the Nevada side. Stopped in at one of the ranches there. The guy who lived there knew my uncles. He used to live in Fallon. He didn't remember my dad though. Kind of strange because where/when he said he lived he would've sold that little piece of property to my dad. Only time I ever got up into the mountain West of Cedarville was one trip into Blue Lakes. Sure is pretty out there!

Oil Field...get to drive by these beauties almost every day. Amazing animals with amazing power. Seen them flip flat bed trailers over and uses the welder that was on it as a ball...fun to watch as it wasn't mine but it taught that crew a lesson. Don't leave your shit in with the Buffalo overnight.

Dont have anything recent but I used to cut timber for Harold Mitchell who was Chief/Tribal Chairman of the Flathead-Kootenai Indian Reservtion. This photo is near the St. Ignatius Resivoir, just west of St.gnatius. The town is refered to as 'Mission' for the Catholic mission built there many years ago. Ranked as having the 3rd most beautiful fresco ceiling in the US. Beautiful country, but too damned cold for this southern boy. I lived in a tent in the middle of Grizsley country and got snowed on the 28th of July. Thats when I knew I wouldnt be wintering there.
