I'm jealous. When are you going to have the western NC folks over for a shoot ? </div></div>

Whenever the lease people aren't planting/picking crops, my uncle is retired now so really anytime. PM me, it's about 15 minutes from where I-40 and I-77 meet.

Re: Pics of where you shoot

My girlfriend's people, which really like me have land where the powerlines ran on. It is around 1500yrds on google earth. Going to walk it sometime this month and then shoot. Nothing around back there for a couple of miles.

Also has might get access to a hay field my buddy had hunting rights this season on(alot less walking). Just in case the powerline is to wet to drive/walk down. Its a little over a 1000yrds.

Cpt. O if your close get up with me.

Re: Pics of where you shoot

I use some private property out by were my parents live. It's an old sand/gravel pit. I can get anywhere from point blank for pistol to about 650, maybe 700 yards. Picture is me shooting 350 yards. The black specs under the tree line at the base of the hill is the target. Next time I'm out there, I'll take some more pictures.

That is north central MT. Near the sweet grass hills.
I used to live in Billings and moved north a few hundered miles. For long range out there I would drive about 1hr or more out to BLM land, cottonwood creek road is one access point. Very open ground with lots of fun shooting areas. I don't think target shooting is allowed if you get picky. That is to help keep the idiots from dragging out garbage to shoot and leaveing it there.

Re: Pics of where you shoot

Some awesome shooting areas, guys. Thanks for the pics. We got some of those here in NM and next time I go out I'll snap some pics.

Nice range. What kind of gun laws do they have over Thailand? Are you allowed to have handguns and rifles? How about concealed carry (probably not)? </div></div>

It is legal to own handguns and rifles in Thailand although we have to apply for permit. Permits can be issued for handguns and rifles of upto 11.44mm bore diameter (not sure if measure land to land or groove to groove). For barrel without rifling i.e. shotgun is upto 20mm bore diameter.

The application for permit can be quite tedious partiuclarly for centerfire rifles. Permits to carry firearms are rarely given out these days. No automatic weapon and sound suppression device for civilians.

Re: Pics of where you shoot

i have a picture of this same location on the first page of this thread taken in better weather. i've shot to 1500 yards there and could probably get to 2k if i had the capability.

From the target looking out. White truck is the 100m zeroing spot, little red arrow is the 1400m clearing.

Re: Pics of where you shoot

Havent done any shooting here yet, but this is my backyard of retirement house I just purchased in Montana. Have 400+ acres of state land right over my back fence, and access to forest service land up in the hills. Looking foward to setting up some steel out here.

Nice. Im hoping to find some nice spots like that out by Tooele UT once I get my gun.

Also, one of those pics vaguely looks lie stansbury island.

Re: Pics of where you shoot

This is acctually a aircraft strafing range. We use it on down days. We can shoot in any direction as far as we want with anything. Its about 50 miles from trinity site. There is real tanks, planes, buildings and stuff set up in a moch airfield. We also put balistic dummies at random spots.

Re: Pics of where you shoot

We have it pretty good here in Hooterville. We can shoot to 1200+ from late fall to early spring (while the crops are out). The best part is, it's off of our deck. Once we go beyond 670 yards, we are crossing 3 property lines, but it's safe, and around here nobody cares. Step out of the kitchen, call the wind, make your come ups and wind, and send it. Get chilly, step back inside. In the summer months I'm busy with USPSA competition, but I always look forward to fall and winter. My buddy and I always say "Winter time is rifle time." I'll try to get some pics or our "range".

There are 3 shooting ranges in Billings, but all have waiting lists for membership. There is a piece of BLM land just north of Billings on the Hwy to Roundup just north of the Raceway called 17-mile. There you can stretch out to about 500yd on the west end if no-one is shooting there already. Again, they limit what you can shoot. Paper targets are OK, but people have brought all kinds of crap out there and it became a bit of a trash heap before they cleaned it up. Now you can only shoot removable targets. It's not an official range, so not much control other than the county Sheriff who patrols the area from time to time. If you know people with land in the area, there are lots of other places to shoot to over a mile.

Re: Pics of where you shoot

Here are some pictures of my place that people that have come out to this location have provided. My partner Joe and I run some informal shoots open to the public at this facility. We are presently developing a new shooting position that starts at 1525 yards and extends back to over a mile and a half, in the way of range, we have everything in between.

Re: Pics of where you shoot

Finally got out to do some shooting this year. It's been a long winter, but the snow is melted off and the ground starting to dry out. Here's a few pics, with a bit of gun porn thrown in as well.

That doesn't look anywhere close to Baton Rouge LA to me.

I'm jealous of all the guys that get to shoot on what seems like thousands and thousand of acres of open land.

Re: Pics of where you shoot

this thread has some impressive photos....i'll try not to embarrass myself. as i hike up to this spot i leave a trail of steel targets behind. and to quote coldboremiracle "as far as you can reach" is the limit up there
