Nice rifle and basically close to the two I am building (308 Win and 300 Win Mag) with the the two Strike Nuke Evo chassis I am waiting for OD Green.

Protection against barricades and what not. Keeps the scope protected from dings/scratches

Some do it for looks as well. They make scope coats with different designs and patches etc
