Thinking of installing pillars on one of my Tikka rifles that has a wood stock. Rifle is mostly used for benchrest shooting at my local club, 600 and 1000 yard matches. However, I noticed the Tikka action has a raised surface where the bottom metal screws thread into the action. I doubt the radius built pillars would work in this application. What is everyone doing for pillars on a Tikka action?

Thanks, Darin

Re: Pillars for Tikka Action

I don't know of anyone who has pillar bedded a Tikka. They normally shoot sub MOA with factory ammo, so most people (I would think) don't need to mess with a good thing.

You may get more responses if you post this under Bolt Action Rifles.

Re: Pillars for Tikka Action

Hey guys,

Lumley Arms in Australia now has bedding kits available for Tikka T3s. The kit consists of 2 304 stainless pillars, 304 stainless or 4140 QPQ nitrided actions screws and a grade 2 titanium recoil lug that fits perfectly. The recoil lug is a press fit into most Tikka factory stocks as the factory lug is slightly undersized. I've got two of Lumley Arm's recoil lugs, they are very well made and lock in with very little play, if any at all, with my T3 action.

I'm not sure why it isn't on the Lumley Arms website (http://www.lumleyarms.com/#!tikka) but the kits are expected to retail for about $45 AUD, ex. shipping. Delta Tactical (http://www.deltatactical.com.au/Tikka%20T3%20Titanium%20Recoil%20Lug%20and%20Bedding%20Kit) handles all AUS and NZ customers but I'm sure they'll be happy to ship to the US as well.

Mods - if you guys don't allow links to businesses, my bad. Please remove as necessary.

Cheers.
