I know there is a thread here about michigan shooters getting together to shoot but for the most part its either youngs or south kent. I don't have anything against either one and am still looking at south kent but want to inquire if anyone knows of any other good places to go in Michigan, the longer the better.

I've done a google search and have come up with a few databases so to speak but they don't all list the same ranges. Which got me thinking, is there a good range that might not be one any of these that I might be missing? I'm on the west side of detroit so I'm trying to find something within a reasonable driving distance (not on the road all day).

I know of Blue water sportsmans and Washtenaw sportsmans clubs over in my area but they don't use their 600yd ranges except for special events. State parks are only 100yds.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My brother lives in Utica, and is having the same problem. He's thinking Blue Water, but I don't think he knows about the limited use of the 600 yard range yet.

Below is another in your area, although I heard the restrictions are kinda retarded inconvenient as well.

EDIT: Sorry, I see that you are already aware of Washtenaw.

You can shoot at Washtenaw on wednesdays for 5 or 10 dollars from 600 yards. Mutilakes and DSC 200 meters Midland 600 yards there are plenty of places to shoot.

You can shoot at Washtenaw but you have to be accompanied by a memeber. The new rules were put in place for a reason. I am not going to go into them but there was good thought put into the decision. I think Blue Water does a 600 practice the last Wed. of every month but I am not sure if it is open to non members. I dont think Midland is open to non members except for registered matches. I think your going to find most clubs do not open their facilities much unless your a member. Howell Gun Club has a 300 yd. range but again you need to be a member and go through a fairly simple qualification process.
