I was walking around Walmart the other day and found these little Plano boxes in the fishing section. It looked to be about the right size for .22 ammo and it was just over $5 so if it didn't work then no big deal. Turns out it fits three boxes of .22 pretty well, there is some slop but I glued in some pieces of foam to take that up.
These cases are made in the USA and about about a 1/4 of the cost of a Pelican 1020 case. Of course, this case isn't the same quality as a Pelican but for hauling some .22 ammo it will be more than sufficient.
