Think the trigger guard can get bent into a winter guard shape with a little heat? Reminds me of the Cav-Arms plastic receivers too..that Carbon 15 from Bushy looks horrible though.

Polymer Composite.. I asked about the material once, the answer was "like a glock, but better"....
The weight is about half that of a standard lower.. I will try to get one on a scale soon, get real numbers.

Not to be rude, but what's the point? Considering you can get a quality forged lower now for around $75 pretty easy, a plastic one seems a bit pointless to me, can't be much lighter if it is at all.

Whoa, just noticed the trigger group is plastic too. I don't think I could make myself trust that in a battle scenario, and I try to make all of my guns durable enough to withstand a battle scenario.

theres a huge thread over on ar15.com about these lowers. reviews seem to be not too bad actually. not my cup of tea however should make for a pretty good lightweight build coupled with a pencil barrel.

Yeah I have to agree,I've read some pretty good things about these today..As far as being "battle ready",I'm a civilian and the last I checked it's been quite awhile since we've needed to worry about that..If or when that day comes my plan will be the same as it was during the Y2K days..I'll shoot with my bolt gun and take somebody else's..I'm just saying!!

The rifles that we shot had the heavy profile barrel and a scope. They weren't light at all. You could reduce the weight by using one of these lowers, but the aluminum lowers are already pretty lightweight. And of course you'd need a pencil barrel and reduce weight where possible.
For me, "the point" is that the price is almost half of the aluminum receivers. $100 bought the COMPLETE lower with the stock and all the internals (yes they are all plastic). Not everyone will like them though, there's no denying that.

Is the trigger sear plastic?
It makes more sense for $100 complete, but I still couldn't bring myself to buy one. That said, I'd be curious to look at one and see how the actual fit is. Not to be superficial, but it'd be a lot more appealing without that big ugly logo on the side. A coat of paint couldn't hurt either.

Just wanted to post my experience so far with it. I have a Plumcrazy lower in a 16" barrel 6.8 spc, A3 upper. Was able to get MOA at 100 yards. I tested the gun in the range and in the field and after more than 200 rounds still going without any problem (including rapid fire). No differences with the performance of my other ar-15 (20"heavy barrel 223). I have a vast experience with semis (FAL/G3/M1) and so far, beyond what people say, it is a very reliable lower. In my opinion, all people with no experienced issues, should not post

I am sure it works great, and will last a long time, but I only buy metal guns. Call me old school....

Polymers are great, Glocks are garbage though. I think it would be better to use carbon fiber instead, it would alot stronger and about the same weight. But carbon fiber does chip easier than polymers. I have the AR10, Polymers have no place on my gun. They do serve their purpose in the industry. The only plastic guns I like are HK and FNPs. Glock are garbage, but you cant expect much from Germany's asshole. I compare the Glocks to Ford. Cheap product that is cheaply made. I wouldnt be surprised if Glock was made in Mexico with Ford.

So are the take down push pins metal or plastic? I see that they have beefed up the area where the buffer tube screws into. Do you have a standard lower to do a side by side picture? I am curious how they compare.

I love how people like throwing the terms composite and polymers around without realizing what they mean.
Plywood is a composite. A fiberglass swimming is made of a composite. Just because it is a composite doesn't mean it is better.
Polymer is just a chain of a repeating structure. A big juicy steak is full of polymers, in this case protein. Rubber is a polymer. PVC, nylon, epoxy, etc. are all polymers.
These guns are plastics. Most of them are composed of nylon-6 that is fiber reinforced. It's still a plastic.

As for those that bashed Glock, I live near Smyrna, GA where they are made. I have put well over 15K rounds through mine and its still going. Glock stands behind their products too.
Point is, if you dont like something, dont buy it. No need to slam products........

Like the ACR and the SCAR....
I bought one to dick around w/. I put an old HBAR Bushmaster I had on it. Took it out, ran ammo just fine. Trigger felt fine, gun felt like any other AR. It's not my first choice, but it's a full lower for under $150

I'll put my Glocks up to an FNP or an HK all day long. I do like H&K, but they also have a lot of hype and price tag behind them.
You need to put down the pipe, before you call one of the most reliable, toughest , no frills guns in the market garbage.

I will agree with the others. You dont know anything about Glocks. I am a Glock Advanced Armorer. I have been using a Glock 23 and a Glock 27 for my duty weapons for the last 10+ years. I have put over 15K in my 23. EXTREMELY reliable. And, just FYI, they are made right here in Smyrna, Georgia (about 5 minutes from Atlanta). They are actually building a brand new factory in the beat that I patrol. Judging by the size of it, they are doing quite well and are here to stay. This shows their reliability is proven.........
Did I mention my father had an HK and a Glock in .45 cal for duty weapons? He preferred the Glock.
I know of officers Glocks being dropped, kicked (during physical altercations), and fallen down storm drains onto concrete. I am yet to see any chipping. In fact, there has been no damage in these cases and I am the armorer for a 75 officer precinct (thats 150 Glocks).
Why would the polymers on the HK be any stronger? I believe polymers are lighter and stronger than some metals. Oh, they dont rust either and the parkerized finish wont chip, scratch or wear leaving bare metal showing.
Tell me, what makes Glock such a POS company? as stated, the frame wont rust, barrel is coated with tenifer (which wont rust), and slide is coated with tenifer under the parkerized finish. ONLY place I have ever seen rust on a Glock is around the sights......

I will agree with the others. You dont know anything about Glocks. I am a Glock Advanced Armorer. I have been using a Glock 23 and a Glock 27 for my duty weapons for the last 10+ years. I have put over 15K in my 23. EXTREMELY reliable. And, just FYI, they are made right here in Smyrna, Georgia (about 5 minutes from Atlanta). They are actually building a brand new factory in the beat that I patrol. Judging by the size of it, they are doing quite well and are here to stay. This shows their reliability is proven.........
Did I mention my father had an HK and a Glock in .45 cal for duty weapons? He preferred the Glock.
I know of officers Glocks being dropped, kicked (during physical altercations), and fallen down storm drains onto concrete. I am yet to see any chipping. In fact, there has been no damage in these cases and I am the armorer for a 75 officer precinct (thats 150 Glocks).
Why would the polymers on the HK be any stronger? I believe polymers are lighter and stronger than some metals. Oh, they dont rust either and the parkerized finish wont chip, scratch or wear leaving bare metal showing.
Tell me, what makes Glock such a POS company? as stated, the frame wont rust, barrel is coated with tenifer (which wont rust), and slide is coated with tenifer under the parkerized finish. ONLY place I have ever seen rust on a Glock is around the sights......

Not sure what you meant by this comment, but my Glock says "Austria" on the slide. The company was started by Gaston Glock in Deutsch-Wagram, Austria. I have met several big wigs from the factory in Smyrna and they are from Austria.
HK is a German company. Sure, a good company, but they turn out crap too. The only firearms I was impressed with were the MP5 and HK91. MP5 was great submachinegun I was issued. Didnt like the scope mounts of the HK91. One POS I was issued was the HK G36. I would rather have an M4, or even an AK any day............

All you said is absolutely true.
Glocks are a great gun. Reliable as all get-out and can take a severe beating and keep on ticking. I had a Glock 19 that was my HD weapon of choice for years.
But I'm not LEO and I live by a mantra: "Life's too short to own an ugly gun".
In that light, I'll stick with my 1911. Battle proven (many times over) and NOT ugly as sin.

Bought my glock 23 gen 4, first thing i did is threw it into a snow bank, pulled it out and ripped 100 rounds, no malf, no jams, nothing. just really really cold hands

I would also like to add that the Glock is battle proven as well. Not by the military, but by hundreds of police agencies accross the nation. I am not trying to convince you to get one, just adding evidence to disprove those that say Glock is crap.

Well, from what I understand, the plastic trigger parts can be swapped out with standard lower parts kits. If I can get my hands on one for a good price, I would like to test one out. I dont think these have been tested enough. I want one to slap under my M4 upper and put 5K rounds on it. See how it does when it heats up.
