I need some advice. I purchased a Proof barrel for my POF Edge but cannot get that damn monolithic rail off. Does anyone have any suggestions? Ive removed all the retaining screws but it wont budge. Secondly, ive never messed with pistons before and this one has a short stroke however, the new barrel has a rifle length gas system. Besides swapping gas tube length is there anything else i need to do?

I am not the least bit familiar with POF and not even sure if you can change the gas length without consequences. I do know that POF has many diagrams availible from their site. Scroll to the bottom of the home page and click the support tab.

The gas piston will work just fine. However you need the proper leangth rod. The gas regulator you have will also work fine.
As far as the rail goes it slids forward on another dovetail cut into the upper receiver. It's going to take some taping. So use a plastic block and mallet.
When you install the handguard you tighten up the receiver screws then the barrel nut screws.
Also you will need a shim set to properly align the barrel nut.
