I'm a cherry (FNG)to this forum and spent some time trying to find alot of opinions on the POF 18" 415 or 416 .223
There is alot of info on the 308 calibers but very little on .223

I have been researching many forums the last 2 weeks searching for information good and bad on the POF of my specs and marking the days off the calendar waiting for this monday to show up to pick up my R415-18-11SX-223.

I'm located in Arizona and sold my AR15 A2 with 11.5 barrel on Backpages.com and used that money for downpayment on my new POF.

I am a user and believer in the ART I& II system and found a new released version from leatherwood which also arrives on monday.

So while playing tiddliewinks, I thought I would start a thread here and see what everyones opinion would be on the POF .223 and the scope. Please do not give me the lecture of this scope is made in china. Cause its not! As of march 2009 the Leatherwood scopes have been brought back here to the USA to be factory made and are now made with better optics. But all other opinions are truelly welcomed. Thanks.

Re: POF R415-18-11SX-223

I have a 18" 223 from POF and love it. Super accurate. With my S&B 1.1-4x Short Dot it shoots .5-.75" groups at 100. I want to put a higher mag scope on there and really see what it can do. Runs reliable too. You made a good choice.

Re: POF R415-18-11SX-223

I have a 16" with a 2.5-10x32. It shoots around .6" for 5 shots. I bought another 16" POF recently. I was looking at the 18", but the 16" has worked great out to 600 yards.

Great guns.

Re: POF R415-18-11SX-223

I've only run my suppressed and it has run flawless. That beings said, it has only had 60 rounds down the tube. I did some research and was please with the results other people had gotten (accuracy), so I pull the trigger and got one for myself.

Only problem is, I can't make up my mind on a scope. It's running irons for now and so far it has decent accuracy (my eyes aren't the best which is the problem).

Re: POF R415-18-11SX-223

Well this day is shot. With bad news depending on how you look at it.
Waited all day for a phone call from my dealer which never came, so I finally called him. He answered the phone and told me he thought he had my ALL BLACK P415 18" 223 in the wharehouse but found that he was out of them. So he called POF and all they had was a sage green limited mod of the P415 18" 223.

I called chris today at pof and he confirmed this and said the wait on a all black P415 18" 223 would be min 4 to 8 weeks or longer. I dropped a jaw and agreed to take the LIMITED RUN MOD which I hope to see by noon tomorrow.

I called Tom who deals with Rock Creek Barrels and he said everyone who wants any form of a 18" barrel from most known manufacture company's are gonna be in wait mode for along time.
And to get ready to hear some news and see another price jump on Military rifles.

Major shortages across the board and all well known Manufactures are now going from 2-6 weeks on making custom rifles to 4-6 months. That it just stated in the past month or two.
The price on 18" custom built Military Rifles will jump another 200.00-400.00 min before x-mas.
Ouch!!!!

He said I got lucky on getting a LIMITED EDITION and to hang on to it cause its already considered rare!

Now counting the hours away till noon tomorrow.grrrrrrrrrr

Looks good. The nonblack finish takes a little getting used to but I actually like it now that I have had it a while. It's NP3 and tough as hell and helps with a high lubricity. I also like being able to see where the fouling is inside the receiver but there isn't much with the piston system.

I remounted the new scope that came in yesterday. Its a Leatherwood Camputer ART II M-1000. I went to the range today and found a diamond in the rough. AWSOME OPTICS and easy to boresight for me. The target was set at 200 yard range with winds of 13-18 mph gust, I used Federal American 55 grain .223
I walked it in from the upper 1400 pos to the last 6 rounds center.
