I am new to the shooting world. Just purchased a Remington 700 LTR 18 inch barrel, Nightforce scope mount, Titanium rings, Leupold Mark 4 scope, and a Harris bi pod. I plan on trying out for our sniper team at work and dont plan on shooting some of the long distances you guys do. If there is anything I can do to the rifle to help the accuracy let me know.

Short answer, buy all the good match ammo ( 168gr ) U can afford and go to pulling the trigger, Nothing beats trigger time.. A real shooter that has experience that can and will coach will be worth a lot as well.. worked for me. I claim to be a nobody that can shoot. My 2C

First thing is you need to learn to shoot, if your serious about sniper training your going to need to PRACTICE,,,See above

If it was me I would research live fire schools and be prepared to drop > $5000 in training.

But first I'd find a local range where they shoot some kind of standing rifle competition and get a few thousand rounds downrange. Just buy 2 or three cases of ammo. like the BH comp or whatever you didn't note the caliber of your rifle in the description.

Be aware, that to be competent at 100 you need to be competent at longer ranges.

Typically they don't make snipers out of someone without a resume. Its like becoming a pilot. Lots of people can fly planes not many have the total package to fly special planes.

Good luck!

I'd pick up a decent little 22 as well.
Its all about trigger time and you don't have to shoot buck a shot ammo to get better.

Nothing like hunting Jack rabbits or sage rats to make you a better shooter. Lots of different placement angles speeds etc.
