Being the rifle whore that I am, a lot of people have asked me what is the nicest rifle that I have in my stable. Before June 21st that question was hard to answer because I have had rifles built by who I believe are some of the best in the industry.
A few years ago I started to shoot a McMillan Arctic camo A5 because I wanted something a lil different from the rest of the rifles on the line. That rig got dubbed the Polar Bear 260. Now we
June 21st, 2013 will be one date I will remember for the rest of my life .
Earlier in the evening I met up Jacob's house to hang out with Francis *the Animal* and Shawn before Francis left on his trip east. I was pretty dyam surprised when I saw the amount of people there for what I thought was a lil send off party. All friends, all NCPPRC members. This was suppose to be a lil send off.
After a few minutes of saying hello to everyone and BSing, I was told to take a look at Brian Sanders new rifle. When I pulled out the rifle out of the case, my initial thoughts were "This bastard stole my idea for my dream build, and that SOB Terry Cross sent Brian the stock I asked for almost a year ago now!" They even asked Terry to not return any calls, text, email, or whatever for the last few months just to f#@K with me. I thought I some how pissed the man off or something.
After admiring the rifle for a bit, they told me to look at the custom serial number on the rifle. I read it, but I couldn't believe it. "VUPHAM 1" They told me that this is my new competition rifle. I honestly couldn't believe it, and then proceeded to ask who I need to square funds away with for the hardware. I was told this is a gift from them, to me. At this point something got in my eyes, and it was hard to form words.
From what I understand this project started up around the end of 2011, and they were able to keep it a secret until the rifle was given to me. There is no doubt I will cherish this gift, but in the end, it is your friendships, and the times we spent together that will never be forgotten. I am honored, and humbled by the people I have been blessed to be friends with over the years through NCPPRC and shooting this sport.
Special thanks to Terry Cross of KMW Rifles for the Arctic camo Sentinel stock, and George Gardner with GA Precision for the Templar VII action with my personalized serial number. The serial number definitely added the "CDI" factor.
Thank you to all my friends and fellow club members for what I know will be my most cherished rifle ever.
