Basically people will not do anything as they believe someone else will do or has done something. This happens every day and has happened throughout human history. So I don't see it as anything but people being people.
As the saying goes "be the change you wish to see in others". </div></div>
I really dont think thats the problem. Its more like "Im sick of being stopped for "Driving while black" and all the rest of the offences weve all seen, like the thread about the LEOs who shot the black people after Katrina. They have no trust, and no love for police. If youve never lived in a black skin its almost impossible to grasp. Not pretty but understandable from their perspective...Kind of like "You fuck me over every day and you expect me to come help you ...hahahahaha". </div></div>
I totally disagree with that. This was a black cop and a black criminal. The race card has no bearing on what happened here. It was simply a piece of shit criminal and a bunch of sorry ass people doing nothing to help. At some point you have to take responsibility for yourself and stop blaming other people for your problems. </div></div>
This pretty much sums it up. As much as the media and everyone else wants to find the easy answer, i.e. RACE, its really deeper then that. Its not just about color of skin, its about the lack of responsibility that continues to grow in our current society. Nowadays nothing is YOUR fault, rather its someone elses. IF you drive drunk, its not your fault, its the asshole cop that stopped you. If you are fired from your job for stealing, its not your fault, its the asshole companies fault for not paying you enough. So on and so on.
The only way we are going to change this is to start holding people accountable for their actions and not buying into the excuse based mentality, whatever the excuse may be.
