THE UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO MASSACRE INVESTIGATION SO FAR:
The FBI made a breaking claim this morning that they were in communication with local LE along the way of Bryan Kohberger's drive back to Pennsylvania after the killings and had asked them pull over Kohberger's vehicle to get a couple of bodycam photos of the suspect's hands and face. The white Hyundai Elantra that the suspect was driving had been spotted by an eagle eyed barista at a local coffee shop who had called it in after seeing the car that matched the description pass her workplace.
In earlier press conferences from yesterday, the police were saying that "substantial DNA evidence" had been used to link Kohberger to the murders. Now that it is revealed that they wanted specifically to see the suspect's hands after the murders, it is adding up:
* If they found Kohberger's blood at the crime scene, it would MOST LIKELY be a small trail, dripping, or smudging leading AWAY from the crime scene, away from the gore in the rooms with the corpses, possibly on a staircase or wall leading out of the house. There were NO other wounded survivors of the massacre. Two other girls were in the house and were spared because they were in a locked bedroom and the killer did not even try to batter their way in. Blood leading away from the scene would indicate that the suspect probably got wounded during the tussle and left the scene leaving a contrail of DNA behind.
* Look closely at the bodycam photo from the traffic stop. Kohberger seems to have a large gash near his right wrist.
It is easy to imagine the suspect having been injured on his wrist during a struggle for the knife with one of the victims, and after the murders were completed, he staggered downstairs and back out of the house, gripping his bleeding wrist, leaving droplets of his own blood right through the yard and to the location of his car.
They sounded VERY confident during the press releases that Kohberger is the perp and as of currently, there are NO other manhunts being conducted in this case. No other details are being released until the probable cause affidavit is opened to the public, but if they are this confident, it must be DNA found in this type of blood trail.
The FBI reportedly tracked Bryan Kohberger and his father as they drove from Washington State University to Pennsylvania – and asked Indiana cops to pull him over to secure images of his hands.
