Anytime VF does good reporting it is likely a diversion from something else. Of course they did get their required hits in on Trump.

The fact they say now maybe it was accidental lab leak, increases the chance it was not accidental. The Media cannot be trusted. Sad but true.

While I don't disagree with the general thrust of your comments, there is something very strange going on with this story. The fact that "little" outlets like VF, Newsweek, and Buzzfeed are the ones pushing this story while the WaPo, NY Times, MSNBC, and CNN try to perform damage control makes me wonder what's going on behind the curtain.

And then you have Fox News, which appears to be providing no actual journalism but instead is just kinda egging on the fight from outside the ring.

Just something to think about before trying to cram this particular situation into one's dominant frame of reference.

Big big big is happening now my friend. The gov’t used taxpayer money to create a virus that was unleashed on the world. The govt then used taxpayer money to hide their involvement. The govt then used taxpayer money to steal an election using the virus they themselves made possible as the catalyst for mail in voting in order to use machines to switch votes with the help of state officials here and the Chinese abroad. It’s no coincidence that China released the china/america virus and then aided in the stealing of our elections.

By the official numbers our own gov’t murdered 600.000 Americans and countless others across the world. The medical advice throughout the year was stay home and die when Fauci himself knew there were treatments early on. 50 state governments and countless city and county gov’ts took part in this lie. They are responsible for destroying local economies based on lies and deceit. The police, which are the gov’t as well, used threats of violence against Americans that didn’t buy into this lie. All this was done to enrich and empower the corporate oligarchs and destroy small businesses. Trillions of dollars are now being printed which will cause massive inflation which also leads to massive taxation.

Big business, Big pharma, and MSM colluded with the govt throughout all this for wealth power. Censorship and mandates for workers and employees alike was the norm. Employees where/are required to help destroy their country by wearing masks. If these people don’t obey then they are terminated. If customers don’t help destroy their country by wearing a mask then the police are more than happy to arrest them for political crimes under the camouflage of tresspassing and property rights. Ironically these rights weren’t extended to those still believing that we live in a free country and wanted to keep their businesses opened. These same outstanding police officers who protected big business property rights would fine and arrest small business property rights be damned. This is Facism men.

Our governemnt at all levels are pure evil. They are liers. They are murderers. The US justice system is weaponized against us. How can a man that understands these TRUTHS ever respect this system as a whole or any part of it?

What is bigger than this America/China virus takeover that you had in mind?

That's half of America. Coupled with more and more people becoming aware everyday --presents a real fuckery-doo for finalizing and completing their take over.

Becoming aware is only part of it. The most important is actively fighting against it. If physical conflict where to take place, Americans would have to accept that the men in uniforms would be their adversaries. It’s the reality. I hope it doesn’t end up there.

The more schooling the more indoctrinated by the govt. This was always known. The most educated amongst us have the least common sense.

the more they believe "academics" even though those academics have been bought and paid for.

no critical thinking skills actually. id say most of the post grad degrees reflected in that bar graph are liberal arts.

I'm going to wait for more answers, but none of these is the worst I have seen today by a longshot. Not that there is a right answer, but there are levels of answers, I think.

You seem to equate intelligence with education. They sir are not mutually inclusive. One must not be educated to be intelligent, and education does guarantee intelligence.

To say it is, shows ignorance and pretentiousness. JMHO
It's not about me, bro.

says the indoctrinated will believe whatever .gov and mass media tells them.

This is closest to what I think is the most correct answer. What I would say is not to focus on answers 1-3. The only possible answer at this point in time is #4. If anybody knows what happened, they aren't yet saying, so it really could be 1-3 with various levels of probability, but we really don't know.

What the graph says is that the more education you have, the more confident you are in your knowledge of things you don't actually know, or at least the less comfortable you are with uncertainty. And since education and research is really all about how we approach the ideas of uncertainty in the world, what the graph shows me is that higher education is doing an absolutely terrible job at what it should exist to do.

Whether it actually exists for another reason entirely, as Wade suggests, is a more than fair point to debate.

The simple is fact is truth has become impossible to find. That is the point, believing anything 100% has become nearly impossible. I think that is by design. Where there is no commonality in truth, division is easy.
I think this is very true, and a big part of the equation. The other part, I think, is that as society becomes more anti-religious, it discards a lot of what it holds as absolute truths, and that people compensate by needing to feel 100% certain about things for which certainty doesn't exist. It's like the two play against each other in some grim drama.

Lol. I mean, if you debate, and you are the judge of the debate, I can see how you can decide that you are always right and I am always wrong. Frankly, I don't think I disagreed with anything you said, just the degree of it. I cannot speak to what happens away from my experience, because I don't find reporting, left, right or center, to be reliable. So all I can report is the degree to which doctors offices and hospitals were closed or unavailable in my parts, which was basically zero, and this goes for elective and essential procedures. I don't doubt at all that the official policy on covid deaths is what it is, but I do think that a lot of people don't understand the words they use, so they don't understand that a 200 lb 40 year old man, at 5'10, who died of Covid likely had 40 years to live, and at least two comorbidities. All I am arguing is that there is substantially more nuance in these statistics than either extreme seems to believe.

When you think of it, this is basically my argument, which you call wrong, on everything. There is more nuance on whether police are good or bad, on the inflationary situation, on Covid, basically on everything. I don't live in a world of absolute truth. I don't have that luxury. It seems that is where you and I disagree.
In MA, elective procedures were all but shut down for most of the pandemic. I am speaking with direct personal knowledge. My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer last September after a routine mammogram. She was supposed to have surgery before Christmas, but the gods determined that while the mastectomy was required, the reconstruction was elective and therefore couldn't be done at that time even though it was to be done immediately following the mastectomy and while she was under the same anesthesia. She would have had to go back for a second surgery when the restrictions were lifted. Her docs elected to wait until the restrictions were lifted and she had both procedures done in March. Talk about stupidity.

She is also an RN and has first hand experience with deaths being labeled COVID related despite COVID not being the CAUSE of death. Follow the money. The hospitals got sub subsidized for COVID deaths so as long as they could produce a positive test, bang, COVID related.

For someone who appears to be very intelligent and well read, your level of skepticism on many topics is curious to me.

Too much, or too little skepticism. I tend to be pretty skeptical of everything, but I apply it in multiple directions. My point about Covid deaths is that, yes, too many were labeled covid deaths, but the counter reaction is to claim that nobody died from covid but those who were old and infirm. It simply isn't true, though it seems truthy if you count every person with a comorbidity or two as somebody who didn't really die from covid. The American obesity rate is 43%. In all likelihood, any one of those people has multiple comorbidities, but my argument is that most of those people are likely to live many years, so if they die with covid, and three comorbidities, they really are dying of covid. On the other hand, if somebody dies with covid and terminal cancer, not so much. Obviously that goes for dying in a car crash with covid etc. I just don't know how to put a number on it that even gets close to reality. Don't know if we ever will be able to do so. So I am not skeptical that people died from covid, or that people were counted as covid deaths that weren't. I am skeptical of anything that claims to have a firm foundation on how much of each we are looking at.

I am sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she is doing better. I do obviously know that there were severe restrictions in many areas. I also know that in many other areas there were not. The response was very patchwork, as is to be expected in a country that isn't supposed to have a strong central government. But the truth is that you could get elective eye surgery in Salt Lake City, but not important surgery in Massachusetts. It is easy to know which of those two is a bad policy, especially if you look at the overall outcomes for those two states. But it isn't quite right to say things were shut everywhere. Things were shut down in states that are quasi-tyrannical, and not so much elsewhere. To me, that is a clue to move to better states. I am a big supporter of the idea that states should govern themselves basically as they like, even if that means that some states are just awful in my eyes. I think people deserve the government they want, for the most part.

Sorry if that was too wordy. I felt like you question deserved an honest answer.

It was pretty clear in Jan 2020 that the leak was accidental from the lab and the Chinese government tried pretty hard to cover it up, silence and remomve evidence as well as stop it hard...
Once the horse was out of the barn however, it was full on 'take advantage' of the situation from WHO, CDC, China and the democrats.

It's also pretty clear early on in the outbreak, before treatments were developed.. fatality rates was 10X higher for ALL age groups over normal flu. You can simply look at TOTAL US deaths each month to see there was a major spike early in the outbreak.. no need to try to say 'it was just a heart attack....".

Rorschach test for Hiders. What does this say to you?

Just because someone has a BA, BS, Masters or PhD that doesn’t necessarily mean they are smarter than the knuckle-dragging plebeians without degrees.

It just means that their knuckles don’t drag the ground and they may THINK that they are more intelligent.

The release was no accident. Do not buy into this lie as well.

Your thoughts on the death rate are wrong as well. It’s based on propaganda.

If I had to bet, this is where I would place my money as well.

It says that a variation of the "laboratory accident" is the highest of perceived cause in all groups.
Healthy skepticism is highest in those with some college and no college.
Over confidence is highest in college and postgrad.

It also says, little of anything of value without a citation so I can review the methodology utilized to produce the data reflected in the chart.

Those cops watch episodes of "Reno 911" for training.

Her first words should have been, "do you have a warrant? If not, get off of my property." Then close the door.
they are at her door because of some mention of going on somebody's property (thought police) but would not enforce an actual trespass that occurred while they were standing there watching it?

This is an old video that was made when the foreign born marxist was in the white house but still applicable. Mr. Innis, the 2nd speaker hits one out of the ball park with his comments on the Dred Scott decision of 1857. The Chief Justice really did say that if the slaves were free then they would have the right to keep and bear arms.

WEF Klaus Schwab hinted an EMP strike...there must be a massive diversion.

How does a media distraction enable an EMP strike?!? The mechanics of the latter so not require the former.

FWIW, now would be a great time for an adversary to launch a multi-mode attack such as an EMP strike and massive cyberattack. Our leadership is inept and our population would turn itself inside-out trying to make this a partisan problem. You know damn well it'd take about three seconds for the left to blame Russia, the right to blame Iran, and then the military-industrial complex would decide we need to bomb Syria.

Fun times ahead, for sure.
