While I would applaud the intention of the legislation to stop antisemitism this is an attack on free speech.
I'm a protestant and have good friends that are Catholic. I disagree with some tenets of Catholic doctrine. If I criticize those tenets, will they draft legislation to shield Catholics from my doctrinal criticisms?
What's good for the goose is also good for the gander. Will Jews be punished for calling a gentile woman a "Shiska?" What about referring to us as "Goyim?"
If I can't use the "N" word against someone then they should not be permitted to call me a "cracker" or "honky."
It's called free speech. If someone doesn't like certain types of free speech then they can ignore it. That's why they put knobs on radios.
I cannot remember the exact quote from one of our founding fathers but will paraphrase it to the best of my ability:
Free speech, by its very nature, will offend some people. Therefore it ought to be protected.
The political class does not care what those they represent think.
They apparently think Americans will suck a whole lot of cuck without so much as a whimper.
Maybe they are right?
