The first impulse of the entire Federal Government is to lie...every single time. It's like it has become coded in their DNA to lie and lie every time they have to interact with the public in any way, and it is NOT just at the top. This culture of deceit may originate at the top of the deep state, but it permeates down to the very lowest levels now. They will lie even when the truth is better for them. That's how corrupt and gone our Federal Government is. It practically isn't even American anymore, and I include the military in that under the leadership of traitors like Milly and Austin.

this could not not be more accurate and true. but,the preference for lying seems to have permeated our entire culture. last job i had, management and admin lied about everything. and yes, when even telling the truth would have been in their benefit. covid ring a bell? auto, medical, insurance, agriculture, universities, most sales people all lie as a standard practice when the choice is truth or lies. WTF?

So true about the manufacturing capability.

It’s looking now like we’ve completed the Soviet style “design bureau” where Lockheed = fighters, Northrop = bombers, GD = Land systems, Raytheon = missiles, etc, etc, etc.

This consolidation also hurts employment opportunities for engineers and other scientists as well as production staff/prototyping. It’s all and all BAD.

Your point about the strategic bombing in Germany/Japan reminds me of a book I have called Secret Weapons of the German Army (or something like that). Showed that they were likely 10 years (my guess) ahead of the Allies. Only thing we had that MAY have been better was a more reliable jet engine which didn’t really see much light during the war. Our biggest “tech” was in the Manhattan Project - certainly not in precision weapons.
I’ve recently come to work in manufacturing and truth be told it has been depressing.

I see problems that begin with our welfare system, cruise through our education system, but really stem from govt policy, meddling and regulation.

It’s bad.

This would include pediatricians these days.

“Will you leave the room so I can talk to your child alone? It’s policy now.”

Keep your kids away and let them know your policy is “Fuck you”.
they will aggressively question the kid about gun owner ship at least. pediatricians are about the most woke of med specialists. they are usually in the worst group of the "experts" that want the gov running your life.

LOL
I bet the R's stole this from the D's. Like when the D's passed the
"On November 21, 2013, Senate Democrats used the nuclear option, voting 48–52 to overrule a decision of the chair and set the cloture threshold for all nominations, other than those to the Supreme Court of the United States, at a simple majority of senators present and voting"

"pointing out that only members of the majority party are allowed to vacate the chair, while the minority party has no say in the matter.
“Their proposed changes would, for the first time in American history, shield the Speaker from accountability to the entire chamber,” McGovern claimed in a statement.
