1. Make plans once you know for certainty where the gang holding your children and possibly others too, are holed up at.
2. Tell nobody. Call nobody.
3. Equip with multiple LETHAL tools and implements that you are adept with. Familiarize yourself with human anatomy and the permanent "off switches" ie., major arteries, veins, and where they are located.
4. Liquidate any and all tangos. No quarter given.
5. If bucketheads do respond in the middle of the liquidation, take them out too. You are not gonna get far but when you are in a situation like that, more nationwide/worldwide notoriety and media coverage, the better. Cue the solitary middle blurb: "What's the point? I might as well be dead". That is correct. You are now living in the borderlands. You have been disarmed, looked upon like livestock by your own governors while they import scum to brutalize you. The rule of law ends when your family are not allowed to live peacefully or even allowed a measly scrap of a baseline normal existence. Borderlands rules applies then.
These parents had the right mindset, but totally wrong expectations. When it comes to that point, you either don't go at all, or go all the way.
