Definite grounds for impeachment against him and the one who doesn’t know what a man or woman is. Certainly can start building a folder of things that would prove impartiality is completely gone. 1100 feet per second sink rate…2x what the gear can take. Not sure what the normal max decent rate should be. The thing that caught me off guard was the first time sink rate increased a lot they lowered the thrust output, and the second time did nothing. My guess, despite all the rhetoric, is that they got hit with what I’ve heard some Navy folks call a Farley gust (a sudden out of the blue gust of different direction and magnitude) and their lack of experience in that condition doomed them.
That said, not ramping throttles up and being on the high side seems like one issue. And having this sink rate hit twice is another. For sure pilot error made worse by somewhat poor conditions. Female or not…don't care…a mistake like this is most likely a complete training failure and she should not have been PIC due to that lack of experience in adverse conditions. Sure, ya gotta learn somewhere; but preferably not on a fully loaded plane.
It also stinks of the actual captain not reading out the sink rate or not paying attention to it; that alarm is the equivalent to the low-oil dummy light on a car with a dipstick.
I kind of wonder how many sudden wind shifts they see in the simulator to make landing very hard.
