He did the right thing, considering his age and his community. However, as he gets older, someone needs to explain to him what "immediate and otherwise unavoidable threat of death or bodily harm" means. And teach him how to shoot better so the perp expires in the house with holes in the chest.

ETA: The location of entry wounds does not matter but you may have to make the case in court that a reasonable person in your shoes would have felt acutely threatened for their life or limb. That's tough if the guy you shot was running away from your house.

I don't know if I told you this story but about 5 years ago, I was at one of my rentals when the kid came home running into the house. He said he had a handgun put in his face by a fellow student. I grabbed my gun out of the truck and stood guard while his stepfather called the police. Seems the kid took up for a girl on the school bus. The bully waited until they got off the bus and walked up to the kid and put a 45acp handgun up to the kids face. The police went to the kids house and did what cops do. Seems the bully was 18 years old and was charged as an adult and is service a 15 year sentence.

The school system is broke and I lay blame of the WOKE parents and the school board. It's suppose to be about EDUCATION.
