Would be interesting to know (and maybe I missed it) how many people were killed by the bad guy before neutralized by civilian and police. My guess is fewer people died when civilian neutralized threat than when police did as civilian is already at the scene.
there are lots of details or questions related to this.
a citizen with a gun is already there, versus police having to get to the location first.
but then throw that out because the police were on the scene in uvalde when the killer was murdering 21 people.

stats can be deceiving, but for me the take away is just how often people use the 2nd to protect themselves and others.

Yep. Just because you wear a maxi pad and stick frozen ketchup cubes up your ass to claim you’re menstruating doesn’t make you a woman.
nobody should be compelled to participate in a mentally ill person's delusions.
similarly, i should not have have to refer to a 70lb anorexic woman as fat, just because she does.

If Massie is a great guy and Trump is a square shooter, they should be in alignment.

Massie says - why would I vote for a CR when Doge just ID'd all this waste? (Implication being that all those Doge ID's funds are re-appropriated to each user group)

What if it isn't like that?

Here is the 2023 / 2024 CR Bill - read the text of the Bill. Convoluted isn't it? Hard to search. Tons of earmarks written explicitly throughout the document. Now see the 2025 House CR Bill that just passed. The 2025 House CR Bill is very different. Very few earmarks. Revenue / Spending / Deficits - in gross terms are clearly addressed. Appropriations are defined in lump sums to the user entity.

Congress has undisputed power of the purse - they can make appropriations, and even appropriations for specific matters. Absent such specifics, the Executive Branch has administrative power over how the money is spent.

Massie is bullshitting people.

Drone and munitions navigation personnel at the USAF, Space Force, DARPA, Skunk Works, etc: "Oh just give us the go ahead, please"...

The scum that carried out the murders this week is pretty much marked men right now. President Trump 1.0 took out Soleimani and numerous other AQ/ISIS personnel via sudden, unannounced precision strikes. And his first week in MAGA 2.0 saw an entire cave full of terrorist scum in Somalia vaporized. There is no reason not to believe that deep behind the pomp and color of MAGA 2.0's campaigning and social media presence, teams of our top men and women in uniform moving around in the starship-like interiors of Defense Dept. buildings and silos are analyzing video and satellite footage from last week and plotting out targets to the T. We now probably know the individual life stories of EVERY one of the fuckbags that took part in last week's Ramadan "festivities" in Syria better than their own mothers know them. These are dead men walking.

ETA: In the Quran, the sky, the entities that may live in the sky, and the deep blackness of space has always been a source of primal terror for those adherents of Islam who enjoy conquest and war. They have every reason to be terrified of that. GUESS WHO CONTROLS THE SKY AND SPACE IN THIS NEW MILLENIA AND CAN BRING DOWN PRECISION OBLITERATION AT WILL...

Anymore, I just buy whole fryers and cut 'em up myself. Wayyyyy cheaper.

I use them for chicken and dumplings, this whole skinless/boneless craze makes prices insane, like people don't want to get their damn hands dirty

I gotta admit I was one of 'em for a long time. It wasn't that I was worried about getting my hands dirty, the wife always did the shopping and she'd buy boneless breasts only when they went on sale. Hell, she wouldn't even buy thighs, no matter what the price.

I had one of those "hey, wait a minute" days about 4 years ago and that's when I started buying them whole and cutting them up myself. She gets her boneless breasts and I get my thighs, both on the cheap. Win/win.

I mean, damn. It’s a weak ass protein source. Eat some chicken or turkey.
It’s just like TP during the lockdowns. If there is a short supply of something that makes everyone want it, and the price goes up. I had like four dozen eggs in my fridge a month ago. I looked at my wife WTF. We don’t even eat that many eggs.

Most city people don't know how to quarter a chicken properly. I live in a small town about 45 minutes from the city.

The latest craze is spatchcocked chicken breasts. They are prepackaged and cost $2.50 per pound more. Your paying double or more. It takes 5 minutes to do. If you don't know how, there is YouTube.

It is sad.
