Just got bedding a couple of stocks and things turned out great. I used Kiwi shoe wax as a release agent and some modeling clay to fill any holes. My questions now is how do I get all this damn Kiwi wax off my action? Hoppes #9 didn't touch it, rubbing alcohol didn't do it either. What solvent melts wax without ruining the finish?

I use WD-40, wash with dish soap and water and WD-40 wipe down again. Old white t-shirt rags buff it right off.

I personally wouldn’t use acetone. It’s a super strong solvent and eventually will damage something you don’t want it to.

Just buff it.
Shoe polish (and car wax) are great waterproofing/anti-rust coatings.
I always use car wax on my hunting rifles before a trip to the woods, insures a bunch less rust if it rains or snows.

It will wear off anyway in a few weeks (ymmv) so what exactly is it harming ?
