Shot the new J Allen today!
Shot well. Comfortable with the new vertical grip and shorter length of pull. Balances well too.
Wow, didn't know they were shipping yet....just get it...or, I see you are from Winchester....any contact with @vagqman

I'm in Rockville and know him and believe he got an early pre-prod unit....no?

You’re correct! It’s his pre production chassis he got sent. He let me borrow it for some testing. It does quite well and I think will fit many shooters better with the more vertical grip

I applaud the more vertical grip but wish that they moved the grip front strap closer to the trigger shoe as we did with the MKM grips for the OG JAE like this:

It does still have some things I’d like to see change however for PRS purposes. The taper just in front of the magwell prevents gamer plates from being able to slide back to the balance point perfectly.

The vertical grip could still be about a 1/2” closer and I feel would fit even more shooters better. I still have to stand off a touch to get a perfect 90.

Overall it’s improved from what it was and is no longer something that’s a no-go. But for the price, I do still feel it’s lacking in those small areas compared to other chassis and stocks well below its price point.

For prone/bench shooters though I feel it’ll be an excellent choice. Plus it’s looks are tough to beat.

Agreed brother. OG with the vertical mkm looks to be perfect for most people with average sized hands. Plus the thumb shelf option

So here is the first rifle I will assemble: Impact Precision 737R and Bartlein left gain twist barrel chambered for 6.5 PRC, cerakote to match the action, Geissele super 700 trigger, Foundation Genesis 2 stock dark distressed with Hawkins bottom metal, ARCA and Picatinny mounts for the RRS tripod and Atlas bipod, ZCO 527 scope and ZCO mount, Gunwerks 8ight suppressor. Hoping to have it done by mid to late October. Spent the $ so the hard part is done 😁 Pics to follow.

Did you already buy the atlas bipod? If not I would strongly encourage looking at accu tac instead.. they are amazing the amount of lockup you get but I like my atlas as well

I know this is all old hat to lots of you and yawn and stuff but this is my first center fire bolt gun and second bolt gun to my b14r that I’ve been using for NRL22, and I’m pretty excited about her. She’s left hand, m24 profile, 308, a MPA PMR2 that should be ok for production or tactical at prs, whenever I think I’m good enough to try that. The group was the first 100 yard group after “final” scope adjustments, with a Lithuanian M118LR clone that has performed very well for me with some 308 gassers. Glass is a mark 5 hd PR2. Possibly this month or next I can demonstrate eligibility and be allowed to shoot the local 600 yard match and add that to my match rotations - eventually I hope to re take some of the High Angle classes I’ve taken with gassers with this rifle as well as give PRS a try. It’s fun to learn and strive to be better.

Mine is also the MPA PMR PRO 2.. All I did was put a new barrel on but man that loathar Walter barrel it comes with is great.. and honestly for the price you can't even build it cheaper. The only thing I would recommend is buy the earth magnet removable cheek piece. Makes it easier for cleaning so you aren't always trying to find your right height again. Unless you got the folder stock option

I did get the folder, based on High Angle classes using an Eberlestock Gunslinger and hiking under low trees and such and therefore wanting less OAL (Ie more like a collapsible stock gasser). It’s a bonus that I don’t have to mess with the cheek riser when cleaning.
