I mean, I have a tikka in 6.5cm I could sell you ?My .308's .... ..... Next one would be a 6.5CM ..... Build or Buy? If I buy a factory rifle, I'm debating between the Bergara HMR Pro or the Savage 110 Elite Precision. Hmmmmm

Liking that middle one. Im partial to fat barrels. Will be building a new .308 soon and will see how fat a barrel I can get on it.
Same here .... I do prefer the MTU Contour on barrels. I got my smith custom cut the middle one from a straight Kreiger to my own dimensions following an MTU contour. I think it's about 1.20 on the receiver end and taper down 0.95. Turned out the way I like it.
The next rifle I build will be a 20" .308 bolt gun. Thats a very nice looking one. I'm looking at the Rem 700 5R Gen 2 with a 20" barrel on it. Eventually I'll get a suppressor for it. I'm quite jealous of that XM-3 though!DARPA XM-3 Clone
Next up, we have a Surgeon 591 SA which currently resides in the lovely MDT ACC Chassis. Decked out with all the weights, the bag rider, and bipod, she's a bit of a heifer at 23.4 pounds. Currently has a 24 inch Bartlein chambered in 6.5 Creed and loves the Berger 135g Classic Hunters.
The mount is a Spuhr with 6 MIL elevation built in.
Glass is a Razor 3-18 with a Switchview throw lever and an Accuracy First level.
Trigger is a TT Diamond that I've a new found love for. My last trigger was a two stage Huber, and although a very nice trigger, the single stage is growing on me.View attachment 7213069View attachment 7213070
Sick looking rifle...
What muzzle device is that? Looks like it matches perfectly with the diameter of the barrel.
And my trusty workhorse CTR, denying a pass over the mountains to the barbarians.View attachment 7060032
I never get tired of seeing peoples rifle builds.
Is that a Foundations stock? If so, please let us know how it does when you can take it out. I've heard good things about them.I’m getting close to playing along here
Is it just me, or does the first one do justice to the term "fire stick"?
ow're you liking that short barreled 6.5? I'm considering one with a 20" barrel. Either a 6.5 or a .308. Not sure which way to go yet, but it will be 20" either way. Either a Remington 5R Gen 2 700 or a Tikka CTR.6.5 Creedmoor Shorty!!!View attachment 7215988
I love the short barrel rifle I built. Got to play with it today and it performed beyond my expectations. I am running a can so the shorter 16inch barrel was to help keep the rifle very easy to maneuver. I would recommend the 6.5 Creedmoor because in a short barrel that I am running the ballistic are very close to a normal 308 ballistics. Ive had several custom rifles and this one is quickly becoming my favorite!H

Love what you did with that Bravo, similar to mine but I added a spigot mount and an ARCA rail, and hooked the sling up on the left side into the buttstock QD cup and added a QD sling plate to the left side of the spigot mount. The answer to your question is easy: build, unless there are financial restrictions because something else is on the agenda, when I got my Bergara HMR the fence needed to be redone and the HMR Pro wasn't released yet, so the answer on that would be Bergara HMR Pro. My build this year witll be a Zermatt Arms (Formerly Bighorn) TL3, with a PROOF Research carbon fiber barrel in a KRG Bravo because I love the feel of the Bravo chassis, it just works! My .308's .... ..... It's true, I've done a ton of reading up on it and even in a shorter barrel the 6.5 trumps the .308. It'll be a compact hunting rifle for my son to use, and for me as well ha ha. Gonna run 135 Bergers out of it.I love the short barrel rifle I built. Got to play with it today and it performed beyond my expectations. The KRG Bravo stock is by far the best for the money out there. Hell, I'd venture to say its the best for twice the money out there. I like the Bravo's, too; they have a nice feel when I've picked them up. Just feels like it naturally fits. And the great price certainly helps, too.The KRG Bravo stock is by far the best for the money out there. Hell, I'd venture to say its the best for twice the money out there. I like them a lot.

I've got a premier Ridgeback (not in a Ridgeback anymore) in 300PRC and I love it. I've got it in a KRG Bravo now and it fits me a lot better. Fantastic rifles though, buttery smooth action and the accuracy is very impressive for a factory rifle.View attachment 7220088Bergara Premier Ridgeback 6.5 PRC
I really like the Matrix chassis by MPA; they look sooo cool. They will sell a lot of them.New Matrix chassis, excited to run it for the 2020 season in a new caliber too

What's the difference other than the weight? I can obviously see it's a thumbhole, but I would guess the only difference is the weight.I really like the Matrix chassis by MPA; they look sooo cool. They will sell a lot of them.

Rebarrel one of your .308's in 6.5. Save dollars and get a better barrel than anything in a factory rifle.
