What makes those rifles so special other than the straight pull bolt? I guess what about them justifies the price tag of a rifle built on a custom action by a reputable smith? Not knocking them by any means because I've never seen much less fired one, just curious why they command such a premium for a "production" rifle.

The Blaser wasn't an outrageously priced rifle when I got it 20 years ago. It was $2100 as I recall. The newer ones are in the mega bucks, 8, 10 grand as I understand it. It's a quick bolt action, straight back simple. Not sure what all the mystique is about. I kinda recall it was a simple procedure to change barrels, not sure if I can even get a factory barrel for it today though.

Your paint job disrupts the shape quite well. Torn newspaper as mask over the tan?

What chassis is that? How do you think it would balance with a 26" heavy barrel?

It’s a Mpa Hybrid and too light for longer barre guns I had me proof barreled 6.5x47 with 26 in barrel in it and hated it

Just a vinyl stencil. This stencil is called "claw mark" but the general pattern i was going for is similar to Riptile.
You could use newspaper mask if you were using rattle can. I used Cerakote so the newspaper wouldn't have worked as easily.

Thank you. Everything was cerakote but I used a preval sprayer with graphite black. Tried to keep my range to cover the outside edge of the stencil while aiming for the middle. One pass one direction. Then hit with 1k steel wool after cure.

I almost did the same thing with a McMillan stock, was going to paint a copperhead pattern and chickened out. Amazing how well reptile patterns break up the profile!

honestly I really loved my mausingfield, I've hit targets out to 1 mile with my setup, but once you shoot an AI there's no going back, I love the idea of being able to quickly change calibers. I wish I could of had both. but there's just something about the AI that does it for me.

The first picture is not a precision rifle, but a plain old hunting rifle that we built, using the services of ER Shaw (NDIH) and a Hogue Overmolded stock, She shoots as good as any “Hunting” Rifle I have ever owned. Don’t think she can stand up to my RPR. The Hunting rifle is in 35 Whelen. The RPR is a 6.5 Creedmoor with a Target Tool Stock and the picture at the bottom is a 100 yard target from the Whelen. Just did not expect it. (And of course, this is an exceptional day, not my usual).

The RPR is going to be an expensive experiment. Because, I can see other precision rifles joining it.

It was a great night for some 200 yard load development. No wind at all, and my range is fairly sheltered with trees.
Two loads that just weren’t there, but 1 that definitely has potential. I wish I had have gone the extra length to prep 3 more cases to see what it would have done with a full ten shots. ES was 9 over the 7 shots in the tight group.

Yes it's a factory stock from Voere. They sell a carbon stock with AR style Pistol grip too!
