Saw those in the other thread. Both are really nice looking rifles. And shooters, too, from the groups I saw.

Re: precision rifles... show em

Just finished this rifle up last month in 308. Paint was done by ARP on the hide. waiting for a SAS Ti arbiter paperwork and where good to go. Had it out with SW ammo today at 200 and am lovin' it.

Re: precision rifles... show em

Here are some photos of my Tac Ops X-Ray 51 just back from being re-fitted. I had Mike Rescigno re-work an A5 Adjustable with Terry Cross's KMW "Loggerhead" CPH and then install a Tac Ops floorplate instead of the Williams floorplate that my X-Ray 51 had used before. I had bought the A5 Adjustable off a Hide' member, and to turn the A5 into an X-Ray stock was going to need even more re-working than usual. The stock had a Remington Varmint barrel channel, a "BDL" floorplate inlet, and it didn't have the 10" Anschutz Rail. The fore arm had also had two T-Nuts installed to attach an Atlas BT17, so the holes would need to be filled-in. For complete details and <span style="font-style: italic">"before & after"</span> photos see my <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"X-Ray 51 Redux"</span></span> thread.

Thanks <span style="font-style: italic">Joe</span>. Next time you're going to visit Los Angeles, email me and maybe we can head up to ASR to shoot. I'd be happy to let you shoot my X-Ray.

Nice, I'm a die-hard salvage fan... same w/SWFA - that looks like smart money spent there my friend!

BTW, how do you like the SS 5-20 ?

Re: precision rifles... show em

Thanks man.

I really like the SS. I only have a couple hundred rounds with it on there so far but I really like it. The reticle, the glass, and turrets are very nice. My only complaint is the stiff parallax knob.

Well yeah... it's a hunting rife but it's still a "precision rifle"! Suitable for beanfields and built like a tank!

Picked it up today. Mike mounted the scope and I fired about eight rounds at his new range. Haven't done any fancy load work - just something to zero the scope with! One hundred yard three shot group measured 0.161.

Gunsmith: Mike Bryant (Bryant Custom)
Action: Stiller TAC 300
Caliber: 7mm Remington Magnum (26 inch barrel)
Barrel: Rock Creek Fluted Sendero Contour (1 in 9 twist, 5R rifling)with Satin Black Gun Kote to match receiver (Black Oxide).
Timney Left Hand Trigger
Bottom Metal: Badger Ordnance M4
Mounts: Stiller Base/Burris Medium 30mm Signature Zee Rings
Stock: McMillan Remington Hunter, Olive Drab Paint
Pillars with Epoxy Bedding
Optics: Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x50mm LR (Boone & Crockett reticle)

Bullet: Sierra 168 gr. HPBT Matchking
Powder: 61.0 grs. Hodgdon H4831
Primer: Federal 215
Case: Federal
LOAL: 3.260 (2.700 Base to Ogive with Stoney Point)

Really like this one. This gives me inspiration for what to do with mine.
