SPSV_1259.jpg

SPS-V .308
Seekins 20MOA Base
Seekins 30mm Rings
Falcon Menace 4-14x44FFP
Bell & Carlson Light Tactical stock

TIS Sling and Eagle Stock Pack on the way. All it needs now is a stock "old school" trigger, DD Ross or Badger bottom metal and a skim bed job. I think after that I will be done until I shoot the barrel out.

Re: precision rifles... show em

I've been waiting a while to build one of these. After much indecisiveness on whether to build an SPR or a RECCE, I decided on a RECCE. Here goes:

Colt upper
Noveske 16" recon 1:8 barrel
LaRue 13.2 rail
Surefire CAM4F556 flash suppressor/QD suppressor adapter
LMT lower w/ SOPMOD stock
Nightforce 2.5-10x24mm mildot in a Unimount

haha yea thanks, I didn't want to spend any extra money on mesh so I figured it would be fine. Turned out well too.

Re: precision rifles... show em

Gotta do mine...

Rem 700 243

Trigger redone by me to 3.25 lbs

Return stock. Special thank you to the guy who got it for me.

S&B PMII with AI mount

Seekins base

The stainless tube under it is the Cooper Precision barrel that is going on this summer. 1:7.5 twist. Gonna make it about 23 inches.

Re: precision rifles... show em

CrushDaddy,

If you are talking about my setup...

The rings are about 1.25 or 1.5. Just a wee bit high for me. I would prefer some BO mounts as they set lower. But, being a one piece, you dont have to worry about twisting the scope...

Thanks Konabully!

Re: precision rifles... show em

Here's mine. I posted it in in a seperate thread but I always wanted a rifle that I would be proud to post in this thread. Here are the specs:
Rem 700 action blueprinted and all the works
Rock Creek 24" M2 contour barrel
Jewell trigger @ 3lbs
McMillan M40A1 stock
Eagle stock pack
Badger Max50 rings
Badger 20moa base
Leupy MK4 4.5-14X50 with a USMC mil dot reticle

This is the rifle that I've wanted since I got this precision rifle addiction. It shoots much better than I can.

They are Seekins 20 MOA base and 30mm Low rings.

I wouldn't texture the hook. That would probably chew you up. The B&C Stock has a real nice subtle texture with the webbing.

That's what I was thinking. If you can shoot 2" groups on a regular basis at 800 yards you should sign up to shoot some FT/R matches. You will do really well. Here's one of mine. It don't shoot 1/4 minute at 800, but it does shoot 1/4 minute at 100 when I do my part.

Re: precision rifles... show em

I will have to admit, the only reason I put the choate on this rifle is because it is the most comfortable stock that I have found for my 6'6" 270 lbs. body. Everything about it is perfect for mr for some reason. I agree with you, the name sucks and it is ugly, but I didnt buy it for looks.

Re: precision rifles... show em

Nice to meet everybody. I didnt think 2 inches at 800 was really all that good. I just like to shoot. I didnt know the name and everything was going to piss everybody off. I just wanted to talk about shooting. I dont know many people who like it as much as I do and finally found a place to talk about it and as for the name, its just a screen name, my real name is I guess it would have been better to use Billy the kid or something. I didnt know that people would get all bent outta shape. DAMN! Does anybody else not have some kind of hobby or something that they love to talk about? And as for some competitions I am trying to find some that I dont have to drive a thousand miles to enter. And one other thing, please tell me you are kidding me when you say that groups like that are championship material. I have never been to any competitions.

Please define the following two terms, with out the use google, and their respected effect on the given projectile.

1. Coriolis effect
2. Spin Drift

When ranging a target that is 6 foot tall you get a mil reading of 2 mils. How far is the target??

Oh yea, welcome to the hide.

Re: precision rifles... show em

Coriolis is the effect of the earths rotation on the bullet and spin drift is the drift of the bullet rolling off of the wind but you do not have to worry about either one till around 1500 yards and out
