We have been tweaking this for a bit now and man it is one bad ass little set up. We shrunk the Recon down to the Mini, now we have shrunk the Mini to the Micro and added a carbon fiber base that attaches VIA Arca or Picatinny. The fill is super fine and dense and molds to obstacles like crazy. A lot of you have used our rear bag and know how good the fill is and I am just as excited about this fill. This little thing is 4x6 and punches well above it's weight. This ain't no free recoil set up but yall know that's not how we roll. What it will do is allow you to drive the hell out of your rifle from just about any position. Find it here- https://precisionundergroundriflegear.com/product/recon-micro/
We can do the base for the Recon Mini as well. Not a good pic here but this will show you the size difference. It's a very versatile set up because you can quickly take the bag off the base and use it as a rear bag or in another way if needed. The mini will still come with longer straps to use conventionally as well as the base straps. I would say the Mini set up with Arca is a little more sturdy than the Micro but not enough to keep me from running the Micro. But my preference is always for smaller. The Mini just has a little more bulk, which is relative because the Mini is still 1/2 the size of what a lot of guys are lugging around.
I used the Arca Mini and the Arca Micro for my first two matches ever and placed in the low-mid 30s both times. Nothing stellar but once was out of 88 or something and the other was out of 58 or something so not terrible for a rookie carrying a little 4x6 bag and a glorified Savage. I can say 95% of my misses were NOT because of stability. They were either wind or doing dumb rookie things or a combo of both. We had 12-14mph toward the end of the my second match and I kept over and under correcting.
As always I appreciate the Hide's support. Use code "HIDE" for 10% off your cart as a thanks!
