PredatARobr 7.62 vs lmt308mws

Yes, they are worth every cent.

The tOBR has a big advantage of user level maint/barrel change and size. For SHTF you'd be hard pressed for a better setup IHMO.

I own the 5.56 and the 7.62 and they both shoot in the .4-.75" range constantly.

You realize the LMT allows quick barrel changes too?

The difference being LMT actually has barrels in stock (13.5" 308, 16" 308, 18" 308, 20" 308, 20" 260 rem, 20" 6.5 creedmoor, to name a few. They also make 338 Federal, and 7mm-08). Most offerings come in both chrome lined and stainless match offerings.

Both will be very accurate, with the nod possibly going to Larue, the LMT is a battle proven system that is currently being used by the British in Afghanistan.

The biggest difference, Larue has a huge backorder, so you will either have to get lucky at your local gun store or pay inflated gun broker prices.

Both are excellent systems, both have quick change barrels. If paper punching is more your thing, then I would go Larue. I personally went with the LMT LM8MWS and couldn't be happier.

I have been looking at as well, the LaRue does have a nice price tag over the LMT, that is if you can find one or your want to wait. I have been able to find LMTs on a regular basis. I'm still trying to decide on which rife too.

I feel like you can build something to achieve your goals for far less money. AR's are the sum of their parts. Build it off of a DPMS platform so you can use PMAGs and buy the barrel of your choice or have one built by one of the boutique makers that are so popular on this site. You can find nearly everything you want on Rainier, in stock and using their parts for half of what you would pay for a LMT and you can have it right now. Even their barrels are damn nice with even nicer prices.

It would be hard to beat those tight groups i dont think lmt even have that in mind it's a 1.5 shooting rifle from what I understand I'm referring to lmt

I went through this exercise and agonized about it for a while. However, it wasn't between LMT and Larue. It was between Larue and KAC.

In the end, I chose the Larue over the KAC ECC. I still very much want an ECC as it is a great shooting weapon with an incredible pedigree.

At the end of the day, you need to really sit down and prioritize what your most important characteristics are for the rifle. Once those are clear; you can research them here and your decision will be easy and unemotional.

BR,

I haven't shot it for accuracy much, plink steel mostly but here is one of the early groups I shot with the 7.62 for a point of ref with cheap "match" ammo. Wish I could tell you I called the flyer or I might just suck but I'm going to blame the "field grade" barrel this was shot with.

I've gotten five shot groups in the .4's with my tobr and put 9 shots into .6 (not quite a 10 shot group but close), these were with FGMM. I haven't really worked on seeing what I can do with reloads yet. This is also with the "field grade" barrel.

Id say on average they are 308 1moa rifles kac lmt obr jp blah blah blah.... Submoa on average if the stars and planets are just right. Anything under .8moa on average with any of these rifles doesnt happen much. Id say my Lmt is right about 1moa, maybe a smidge under but not much. Yes, ive done under .75 all day long on the 30round challenge but that doesnt happen often and ive seen enough .308 kac jp lmt obr blah blah blah to say the same. Shooting a big caliber 308 AR and higher is much harder to get small groups in comparison to 5.56 260 6creed blah blah blah. Im seriously considering a dpms sass gen2 for my bench ar for just fucking around at the range and the lmt will be sold if its a shooter

I am trying to find the most accurate ar10 for target and shtfp

I'm afraid when the rifle doesn't group so well I am the most likely culprit, which is what makes it fun and challenging. I'm not a huge fan of the ergo's on an AR for precision shooting either.
