Help please. I have a Premier Heritage 3 - 15 x 50 Gen II Mil Dot Scope. I purchased the scope for use on a different rifle, but I sometimes use American Defense Recon mount to place it on a Noveske 16 inch rifle with a VIS monolithic upper, and a Vltor E-Mod stock. My problem is when I do the scope is about .4 - .5 of an inch to high on the rail for me to get a solid check weld. I have tried using a Magpul UBR stock taken off another gun, but that has not helped. Using a Magpul CTR stock with a ½” riser would help but the riser would interfere with the operation of the charging handle. The only solution I can think of is to use a lower mount. As mounted on the ADM mount I have about 3/8’ clearance between the scope and the rail. I might be able to squeak out a touch more clearance if I used different scope cover, but not much. Is there anything I can do, or is this just not a configuration that is going to work? I have looked at different mounts, but I have not been able to tell if a different mount, for example: a LaRue, A.R.M.S., or a Knight mount might help

Most AR type mounts sit around 1.4 inches high due to the straight comb of rifle system, how high is your mount?

Under no circumstances ever use anything made by ARMS.

I use a Larue LT-104 and it works Great on my AR rifle.I have a standard stock on mine.I have a extra 34mm Larue if you want to try it.I would just trade for your ADM mount

Re: Premier Heritage 3 - 15 x 50 Miunting Question

A Magpul PRS stock would solve the prob- BTW- if you go this route, buy the one made for the 308- it is the same except for the cheek riser is a bit shorter. It will work w/ a 308 and a 223.

I don't think that you can use a different scope cover with that scope. It has a raised lip that is designed for their cover.

Hi Cobra,

ADM’s website says that with the 34mm rigs I am using the mount height is 1.471”. I have never been completely clear what reference points to use to measure mount height, and if all manufacturers use the same reference points. How do you measure mount height?

ETA: Nevermind. Just remembered you were talking about a 34mm tube. Forget it, you're screwed.

A US Optics Posi-Lok mount sits 1.25" high. It's the lowest "quick release" mount I know of. Keep in mind that it must be slid off the front of your pic rail, so if you have any BUIS or anything they'll have to be removed to get it off. However using that mount I can successfully get a good cheek weld without any sort of riser the the PRS provides.

You will almost certainly need to remove the Premier supplied lens cap and PROBABLY the ring screwed into the objective bell with that big flange the cap attaches to. No big deal, just replace it with a BC. Note that you will also probably not be able to run a monolithic rail with the scope mounted that low.

Here is a pic of a USO ST-10 w/ 44mm objective mounted on a AR-10 with a USO posi-lok:

Re: Premier Heritage 3 - 15 x 50 Miunting Question

Thanks for all the good information and options. I am going to e-mail LaRue and see what they suggest with respect to the LT-104 mount. Larue also makes a LT-158 mount that is lower. It may too low. The idea of using a Magpul PRS stock looks like it would work nicely. It would never have occurred to me us use the .308 stock.

It would be nice if they all measured the same way, most get there measurement from the top of the rail to the centerline of the scope

Re: Premier Heritage 3 - 15 x 50 Miunting Question

I sent LaRue Tactical an e-mail detailing what my problem is and what I am trying to accomplish. In the past, I have received a response in a couple of days. I will post the response when I hear form them
