Don't suppose you all have given any consideration to an mp8-style reticle using moa hash marks? The dot boxed in by hash marks is actually quite appealing. 1 moa increments per mark from there on out?
I think there's a lot of people who would love to see something like that and now would be a pretty good chance to get one going.

I'm thinking the same thing. a 5-25x w00t. I'm definitely getting myself ready for that. It'll be perfect if it has an moa version of that mp8 reticle.

I'm just glad to see somebody else besides myself likes the MOA/MOA setup. I like my Nightforce, don't get me wrong, but I would like to see something with better glass with a MOA reticle.

I've gotten to where I want to learn the Mil system but I'll prolly want to continue using the moa setup. it's more precise. I like to take my time so MOA suits me.

An MOA/MOA scope is just as fast as a mil/mil and the ranging is much quicker. I worked a deal into a PR 5-25 so I'm in the process of swithcing to mil/mil, but honestly I'm leaning towards going back to moa/moa. One of the driving factors to go mil/mil was when spotting for my buddies they all wanted mil calls-but the last couple times I was out all I heard was "how many minutes?"
I may pop my scope up for trade after the Vegas match.....
Jerry, any ballpark time frame on the MOA model (with all the mil flavored koolaid drinkers I may be able to trade my scope with someone that gets moa version later).

we're american and we measure in inches. Maybe we make things difficult for ourselves, but once we learn something it's difficult to let go.. I can tell where 50 inches up or 111 inches to the right or left(10 mph wind at 1000 yards for 168) is through rough visual measurement.

You are making things difficult for yourself. Once you have an FFP scope with matched reticle and knobs, if you're still thinking in terms of inches drop/shift for corrections, then you're thinking needlessly. With either mil/mil or MOA/MOA and FFP, you just measure with your reticle and correct directly with the knobs. Its that easy.

It's a lot of needless thinking and knowing how big an inch is, is irrelevant in every way. It plays no part in shooting or adjusting if, for example, you are using a scope with turret that matches the reticle.

Plus, every caliber, every load and even the same load (at different DAs) have different drops and wind corrections. So memorizing a single chart is futile if you want precise dope. Determine distance, then plug the numbers into a PDA or look them up on a drop chart for that specific DA. Then MEASURE your misses directly with the reticle and adjust or hold off accordingly. No thinking require beyond measuring, looking up/punching in, and making an adjustment.

I hope Premier doesn't come out with a MOA/MOA setup, especially with a reticle which resembles the MP8 for the following reasons:
1) I can't afford to buy one
2) Having looked through and shot with a Premier on a bright sunny day I am convinced that the light coming through them is amplified and will burn holes through your retina and into your brain.
3) Even though I can't afford one and I like the three NF and one USO that I have I will end up working tons of overtime and selling some of my shit to get one and I hate both of those ideas.

I dont know whats wrong with you guys i think the metric system is perfect. 100mm or 10cm is a mill for every 100m so 1 click is a cm.
It works for me and i am glad i can finaly get a decent scope for a lot less than some in Metric values. I do live Down under and everything here is upside down or back the fron though.
I also think that Mill dots with MOA are just crap fancy trying to turn 1/4moa knobs to 3.6moa how do they line up?

I am trying to get a scope around the grand mark for a varmint rifle and in Mill/Mill must go to 20 power but that is not to easy heaps have Mill reticles but then they have Moa turrets total crap. I also like the Mills for aiming off 2 weeks ago we were out blowing up poor little bunnies at 400m close to 450 yards had to dial the elevation in Moa then 1 mill wind and pop pieces of bunny all over the hill behind. Great practice small fury critters that move around.

is more an issue of personal preference. that's the same thing as saying every person who wants to own a handgun should own a glock and nothing else and anyone who owns any other handgun is an idiot.

Definetly a matter of preference. I think that there are plenty of people that visit this site that would prefer an moa/moa setup, there is a large market for this. I think premier should take it a step further and at the fringes of the reticle give 1/2moa hash marks. This would allow finer ranging than any reticle currently on the market. I like the mp8 dot idea in moa.
